Rousso Can't Call Any Moore

Vanessa Rousso opened for 650 from under-the-gun and Chris Moore called from the button. Rousso led out for 1,200 on the {8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and Moore made the call. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Rousso bet 3,000. Moore called and they went to the river, which fell the {2-Hearts}. Rousso checked, Moore bet 8,000 and Rousso let her hand go.

Rousso is down to 66,500 while Moore is on 70,000.

Trip Ducks for Deeb

On the board of {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Shawn Buchanan bet 2,500 after Shaun Deeb checked. Deeb raised to 8,650. Buchanan made the call.

The river completed the board with the {5-Spades} and Deeb fired 15,825. Buchanan made the call, but mucked when Deeb tabled the {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a set of deuces.

"We're even now," said Deeb. "Actually, I still owe you from Mohegan Sun."

Buchanan dropped to 62,000 while Deeb moved up to 100,000.

Reverse Durrrrmination

The button made it 900 to go and Tom Dwan made the call from the big blind. Dwan led out for 1,350 on the {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and the button called. The turn came the {3-Clubs} and Dwan loaded another bullet, making a 4,250 bet. The button called again. Both players checked the {6-Hearts} on the river.

Dwan's {K-Spades}{J-Spades} was no good against the button's second pair with {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Dwan is down to 73,000.

Man Down!

Al Bari from an earlier event
Al Bari from an earlier event

Phil Ivey began the action with a raise to 800 from under the gun. Chad Brown flat-called on the button and then wealthy Hungarian Sandor Demjan called from the small blind. Al Bari was in the big blind and reraised to 4,400. Ivey folded and Brown folded, but Demjan made the call.

The flop came down {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Demjan was first up. He led out with a bet of 5,000 into Bari, who then raised to 15,100. Demjan reraised to 40,000 and Bari stuck it all in. Demjan quickly called having flopped the nuts with the {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Bari held the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and was in some serious trouble.

The turn brought the {5-Spades} and gave Bari a chance to hit a full house and win the hand. The river was the {K-Clubs} though and Bari was eliminated while Demjan doubled his stack to 150,000 in chips.

Brown explained what had happened to neighbor Antonio Esfandiari at the next table over and Esfandiari responded by saying, "These internet wizards man, they never believe anyone can have it."

Tables Breaking Early

It looks as though the tournament staff was planning on a much larger turnout than what they've received so far. Three tables have already been broken and the players moved to empty seats around the room. Many of the tables running are still three and four handed while the clock only reads that 141 players are currently registered.

More Tables To Watch

While some tables are currently being broken and we're still awaiting some late arrivals, there are already a couple of interesting table lineups that have caught our eye:

Table 4 - Kevin Saul, Matt Glantz, Chad Batista, Nikolay Evdakov and Praz Bansi

Table 7 - Isaac Haxton, Juha Helppi, Sam Stein and Davidi Kitai

Table 8 - Vanessa Rousso, Lex Veldhuis, Chris Moore, Beth Shak and Christian Harder

Boat Over Boat Already

Nikolay Evdakov raised on the button before Kevin Saul three-bet to 2,300 out of the small blind. Evdakov made the call and the two of them saw the flop come down {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Saul led for 3,200 and Evdakov called.

The turn added the {J-Diamonds} to the board, pairing it with jacks. Saul checked over to his Russian counterpart and Evdakov fired 4,000. Saul made the call.

The {10-Clubs} hit the felt on fifth street and Saul fired a hefty bet of 17,500. Evdakov tanked before making the call and the hands were revealed.

Saul tabled a rivered full house with the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. His tens over jacks were beaten though as Evdakov tabled the {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for jacks full of tens. Saul was knocked down to 48,000 in chips while Evdakov increased to 102,000.

Table 23: Dani "Anksy" Stern, Faraz Jaka, Joe Cada

Table 26: Shawn Buchanan, Michael Mizrachi, Shaun Deeb

Table 27: Roland de Wolfe, Daniel Negreanu, David Benyamine

Juanda Jumps Bichon

Thomas Bichon during an earlier event
Thomas Bichon during an earlier event

Not a good start for PokerStars Team France Pro Thomas Bichon. We arrived at the table following a raise and a re-raise preflop, to see John Juanda pop up the bet an additional 5,400. Bichon made the call and they saw a flop of {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

Juanda fired out a bet of 10,600 and Bichon made the call, to see the {10-Hearts} land on the turn. Juanda led again for 16,500 and Bichon had seen enough as he got out of the way.

Juanda jumps out of the gates to move up to 92,000 with Bichon down to 58,000.
