Molson Mauled

Will Molson has been sent to the rail after his last chips went in on the turn on a board of {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}. His opponent was Dave Sands who bet 13,500 before Molson moved all in for roughly around 40,000. Sands snap-called and the cards were on their backs:

Molson: {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Sands: {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Sands had flopped the joint as the river bricked the {Q-Hearts}. Molson is sent to the rail as Sands is up to 158,000 chips.

Is Papola the 6-Max King?

Jeffrey Papola is from New Jersey and is one of the up and coming young guns that you need to keep an eye out for. A law student who resides in New York, Papola claimed his first piece of WSOP gold jewelry after he won Event No. 42: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed. Papola also placed second in the $2,500 six-handed event just a few days before that. Those two scores alone netted him over $1 million in winnings.

Those two big splashes aren't Papola's only claim to fame. He's cashed in the WSOP Main Event the past two years as well as coming in third place at the 2008 Aruba Poker Classic behind winner Matt Brady and runner-up Johan Storakers. That finish was good for $250,000 in prize money. Overall, Papola is nearly at $1.5 million in total career earnings from live events.

With his record in six-handed events this World Series, Papola could be one of the big favorites to do well in this event that no one has really heard of. He may not be a recognizable face to many of the top pros playing, but if they're not careful he's going to end up with all of their chips. To start the day today, Papola was seated with Joel Nordkvist, NAPT Venetian winner Tom Marchese, Aussie Millions $100,000 Challenge champion Dan Shak and Tim Adams.

Mizzi Makes the Right Call

With 30,000 in the pot and the board reading {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, Darren Elias bet 18,300. Sorel Mizzi tanked for several minutes before deciding to make the call.

And a great call it was-- Elias held only ace-high with {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Mizzi took down the 56,000 pot with his pocket jacks. He's up to 128,000 while Elias slipped to 40,000.

Timoshenko had outs to a full house against Seiver's nut flush but the {Q-Hearts} on the river was no help. Timoshenko's tournament came to an early end and Seiver stacked up 100,000 in chips.

Sometimes Durrrr Has It

Catching the action on the river on a board of {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{K-Spades}{6-Hearts}, Tom Dwan fired out a bet of 10,775 into Steve Billirakis, who sat in the tank for several minutes considering his options.

He eventually decided to go with a call, but Dwan turned over {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} for top set to take it down. Billirakis slipped down to 65,000, while Dwan moved up to 95,000. Dwan's stack increased again the very next hand as he three-bet from the big blind to win another pot preflop and continue keep his opponents guessing.

Demjan Can't Push Around Ivey

Both Phil Ivey and Sandor Demjan saw the flop of {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} putting in 1,500 each. After the flop, Demjan bet 5,000 and Ivey made the call.

The turn brought the {J-Hearts} and Demjan fired 20,000. Ivey called again after taking some time to think about it. The river then completed the board with the {A-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Demjan held the {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, but was beat when Ivey tabled the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a better kicker. Demjan dropped back to 135,000 while Ivey increased to 101,000.
