Ho Scoops Ivey

Level 17
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Phil Ivey opened with a raise and Maria Ho called from the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and the two were heads up to the flop.

The flop came down {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Spades} and Ivey continued out with a bet. Ho called to see the turn which was the {J-Clubs}. Ivey fired once again and Ho stayed the course. The river brought the {5-Diamonds} and Ivey fired another big bet into the middle. Ho came over the top with a raise, however, and Ivey flat called.

Ho fanned {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a rivered set of fives and the nut low. Ivey looked almost stunned as he picked his cards up off of the felt, went to muck, looked at them once more, and finally threw them away. Ho scooped up the pot and is now sitting pretty around 140,000 while Ivey has fallen from grace and now has about 30,000 in chips.

Zhukov Doubles Through Kostritsyn

Level 16

All in after the turn of a {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Spades} board, two-time bracelet winner Viacheslav Zhukov (one in limit O/8, one in PLO/8) was all in with {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} against Alex Kostritsyn. We didn't quite catch Kostritsyn's hand, but he quickly mucked after the {A-Spades} river fell, giving the pot to Zhukov with aces and kings.

Dempsey Scores Knockout

Level 16

We caught up to find Adam Schwartz all in before the flop against James Dempsey.

Schwartz; {A-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Dempsey: {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Dempsey was able to score the knockout against Schwartz's unimproved hand for the high and using his ace-deuce for the nut low. Dempsey is now sitting on about 72,000 in chips.

Seed Takes One From Ivey

Level 16

Huck Seed opened from under the gun plus one and it folded around to Phil Ivey who three-bet from the button. The blinds folded and Seed called.

The flop brought {J-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Seed check-called a continuation bet from Ivey. The turn brought a second pair on the board with the {J-Diamonds} and Seed checked again. Ivey bet once more and Seed stayed the course. The {Q-Spades} rivered and Seed checked again. Ivey checked it back and Seed rolled over {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Ivey picked up his cards, looked at them, and then dropped them into the muck. Seed scooped the pot and now has about 138,000 in chips.

Tim Finne Eliminated By Robert Mizrachi

Level 16

We caught the very end of the hand, but Tim Finne's last chips went into the pot after the river of an {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{A-Spades} board (the turn may have been the {10-Clubs}, but it doesn't affect the situation).

Finne tabled {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{3-Spades}, but his trips were bested by Mizrachi's {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a full house.

Duhamel Drags One

Jonathan Duhamel Drags the Pot
Jonathan Duhamel Drags the Pot

Bart Hanson opened with a raise from UTG+1 and action folded around to Karen Longfellow who called from the small blind. Jonathan Duhamel decided to tag along from the big blind and the flop brought {K-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Longfellow checked and Duhamel followed suit, prompting Hanson to continue out with a bet. Longfellow called but Duhamel opted to slide out a check-raise. Both of his opponents called.

The trio saw the {j-Spades} drop down on fourth street and Longfellow checked. Duhamel bet and Hanson decided to get out of the way. Longfellow called and the two were heads up to see the {9-Hearts} finish off the community cards. Longfellow checked a third time and Duhamel cut out one more bet. Longfellow mucked her hand and Duhamel took down the pot without a showdown.
