Level 11

Stud Hi-Lo

Scott Seiver: XxXx / 88103 / Xx
Ben Diebold: XxXx / 6638 / Xx

On the tail end of a heads-up pot between Scott Seiver and Ben Diebold, both players showed an open pair as of fourth street. Diebold also caught one of the two remaining eights in the deck on sixth and bet when checked to for Seiver to call.

Seiver checked seventh street and called when Diebold bet once more, with his opponent declaring / inquiring "three sixes!?"

Seiver flipped over his Q84 for three eights and that won the pot.

Brewer on Fumes; Cates Doubles

Level 11
Dan Terminator Cates

Limit Hold'em

Daniel Alaei raised and Chris Brewer made it three bets out of the small blind for Alaei to call. On the 876 flop, Brewer check-called and did so again on the K turn. Brewer than checked the 5 river and Alaei bet to force a fold, leaving Brewer with just over one full bet.

One hand later, chip leader James Obst raised from under the gun and he then called a three-bet by Dan Cates in the next seat. On the 1032 flop, Obst check-called a bet and eyeballed the stack size of Cates carefully. Obst checked again the 5 turn for Cates to bet who had fewer than a bet behind.

Obst glanced over, check-raised and a robotic "all-in" declaration of the Tournamentinator followed.

Dan Cates: 1010
James Obst: AQ

Obst needed a four to score the knockout but the 6 river ensured the double for Cates.

Many within the high roller community have taken a stance against the often erratic and controversial Martin Kabrhel, some accusing the Czech poker player of marking cards during the recently completed $250,000 buy-in World Series of Poker (WSOP) Super High Roller.

In response, via a series of tweets, Kabrhel, who finished third, denied cheating and threatened legal action against Andrew Robl, the player who first brought forth the allegations.

Johnson Gets Value on the River

Level 11
Marco Johnson
Marco Johnson

Omaha Hi Lo

Action folded to Marco Johnson in middle position who put out two bets. Action then folded to Dzmitry Urbanovich on the button who put in the three-bet. The blinds folded and Johnson made the call.

The A3J flop landed and Johnson check-called a bet from Urbanovich. The J landed on the turn and action checked through.

The river brought a Q and Johnson now led. Urbanovich thought it over for a moment and finally landed on a call.

Johnson tabled KKJ10 for a rivered straight on a sketchy paired board. Urbanovich mucked and Johnson got some thin value on the river.

Cates on Crumbs, Obst Over Two Million

Level 10
Dan Terminator Cates
Dan Terminator Cates

Pot-Limit Omaha

A wild round of preflop action built a huge pot that has defending champion "The Tournamen-ator" Dan Cates on the verge of destruction.

Action opened with a raise to 6,000 by Chris Brewer in middle position, followed by a call by Daniel Alaei in the cutoff, and a call by Obst on the button.

Cates then raised to 31,000 in the small blind which was called by Brewer and Alaei before Obst then potted it to 186,000.

Cates made the call, Brewer folded, saving the majority of his stack, and Alaei folded as well.

Cates and Obst then saw a flop of 353 and after a check by Cates, Obst bet the pot, which would put Cates all in if he called, holding just under 200,000 chips behind.

Cates opted to fold, sending the huge pot to Obst, then shortly after, Cates also lost small pots to Daniel Weinman and Cary Katz to further shrink his stack.

Chidwick Wins Two Out of Three

Level 10

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Stephen Chidwick defended against a raise by Paul Volpe as both discarded one. Chidwick checked and then folded to a bet of 37,000 by Volpe.

One hand later, Tommy Hang raised to 15,000 on the button and Chidwick jammed for what appeared to be 139,000 forcing a fold of Scott Seiver in the big blind and initial raiser Hang.

Last but not least, Chidwick opened to 15,000 on the button and both Seiver as well as Volpe folded.

New biggest stack on the table is last year's runner-up Yuri Dzivielevski.

Ivey Doubles Through Berman

Level 10
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

No-Limit Hold'em

With only around 70,000 in the middle and the turn showing J1023, there was a bet of 100,000 in front of Lyle Berman in the big blind. Phil Ivey in the cutoff glanced up from his massage and then moved forward the 370,000 he had behind for Berman to snap-call.

"What do you have over there?" Berman inquired and Ivey exposed his 33 for a set.

Berman shook his head and followed that up with an "I can't win ... how much do I owe?" while he flipped over the KJ for just the top pair, then adding "I got too fancy there".

The 6 on the river changed nothing and Ivey doubled for 370,000 to get back to where he was earlier in the day.
