Table of Doom

It's hustle and bustle upstairs as a crowd gathers like fleas to a dog as a Table of Doom forms post-break. With Phil Hellmuth already seated opposite Barry Greenstein, a table in the far corner broke to add Huck Seed and Andrew Teng to the mix.

Three of those players will be known to most, but Teng is also a tough cookie with an ever-blossoming reputation online. Playing under the moniker tufat23, Teng has won countless MTTs, and even became a mentor for an acclaimed tutorial site. Although his focus is mainly on the virtual felt, Teng also boasts some good live results to his name, including winning a GUKPT in Thanet for £68,380.

Almost Durrrmenated

Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

There was an opening raise to 275 and Tom Dwan was the only caller to see a {8-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {5-Spades} flop. The original raier bet 550 and Dwan quickly raised to 1,600 which saw an equally fast shove followed by an equally fast call.

Original raiser: {6-Hearts} {5-Hearts}
Dwan: {10-Spades} {7-Spades}

The {K-Clubs} turn and {A-Clubs} were both blanks however and Dwan stack took a sizeable hit to knock him back to 1,700

Sudworth Shoves

James Sudworth raised 250 before the player in the next seat, Fuad Serhan, reraised to 1,000. Sudworth gave a little speech and then moved all in. Serhan folded and showed the {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Sudworth won the pot and moved to 4,900 in chips.

Serhan finished second in this very event two years ago in 2008. He was runner-up to Jesper Hougaard and earned £89,175 for his finish.

Sing When You're Dwanning

And just look like that, everything is going swimmingly once more on the good ship Tom Dwan, he pushed all-in on the turn of a {J-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {4-Spades} {3-Clubs} board against two players who both folded and now "Durrrr" is back up to the lofty heights of 6,300.

Ivey Falls from Chip Lead

From middle position, Phil Ivey raised to 250. The player in the big blind reraised to 625 and Ivey made the call. The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} and the big blind fired 725. Ivey called to see the {J-Spades} added to the board on the turn. The big blind fired 1,125 and Ivey folded, dropping back to 8,400 in chips. He's no longer leading the way now.

Jetten Knocked Back Down

Scott Fischman limped in from middle position and another player limped in behind before Peter Jetten raised to 450 from the button. Fischman was his only customer and the flop came down {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Both players checked the flop to see the {A-Diamonds} fall on the turn. They both checked again and the {6-Clubs} fell on the river. Fischman check-called a bet of 550 from Jetten and won with the {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} to move up to 7,100. Jetten mucked and dropped back to 1,700.

Ivey Slides Some More

Phil Ivey called an under-the-gun raise to 250 and saw the flop come {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The preflop raiser checked the flop and Ivey bet 400. His opponent check-raised all in for 1,550 and Ivey mucked his hand, giving up some more chips and slipping to 8,000.

Needs Phil-ing Up

The cutoff on the TOD (Table of Death) opened to 250 and Phil Hellmuth reraised to 600 from the button with just 1,900 behind. The cutoff made the call then quickly set Hellmuth in on the {Q-Clubs} {8-Spades} {3-Spades} flop.

Hellmuth looked annoyed, shrugging his hands before folding his cards.

"You're 2 and 0 against me so far buddy, I keep raising with what I think is the best hand and you keep sucking out on me."
