Tom Schneider - 64th Place Finisher
Tom Schneider - 64th Place Finisher
Tom Schneider, last year's WSOP player of the year, was sent home by Dean Oshiro. The board read {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} when Schneider got all his chips in on the river. At showdown Oshiro was laying in the shadows with pocket aces and Schneider mucked his hand.

Oshiro has amassed 63,500 in chips

Getting There on the River

It's folded around to the blinds who decide to do battle. It's starts with a raise from Zac Fellows in the small blind that's called by Alex Moore in the big blind. The flop looks like {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} and prompts Zac to bet out for 1,500 before Alex moves in for his last 2,400. Zac makes the call with a flushing {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} and he's behind for now to Alex's {5-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}. The turn of {K-Clubs} changes nothing before the river {9-Diamonds} makes the flush for Zac and sends Alex to the rail.

Zac up to 102,000 now.

Queens for Duc Nguyen

Duc Nguyen knocked out Poker Stars Pro Andre Akkari when his {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} held up. Akkari got it all in on the flop with top pair. The board read {J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Akkari had {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. When the hands were turned Akkari needed to catch a second pair or trips to catch up but was unable to do so as the board turned the {2-Hearts}, giving Nguyen two pair of his own. The river brought the {10-Diamonds}, but it was too late for Akkari.

Nguyen now has 48,000

Double KO for Maeroff

Jason Maeroff was able to score a double knockout when his pocket sixes tripped up on the flop. Julio Rodriguez Jr. was all in preflop with {8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and after the flop came {2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} Andrew Rosskamm moved all in with {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The turn was the {J-Clubs} and the river the {Q-Hearts}.

Maeroff has 27,800.

Just into the Money

Greg Wohletz - 80th Place Finisher
Greg Wohletz - 80th Place Finisher
It's folded around to Rudolph Silich on the button who opens the pit with a raise. Ultra short-stacked Greg Wohletz is in the big blind and only has 200 left after he posted his blind. He makes the automatic call holding {Q-Spades} {3-Diamonds} and is up against {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs} . Neither player improves their hand and the ace high prevails to knock out Greg Wohletz in 80th place.
