Negreanu About To Ship It?

Phil Hellmuth exiting another tournament early!
Phil Hellmuth exiting another tournament early!

"I feel like I'm still supposed to be in this tournament!" stated Phil Hellmuth as he stood alongside Daniel Negreanu.

"I feel like I'm going to get it in this hour!" added Negreanu.

"I'll bet a lot of money you do . . . oh wait . . . only 50 minutes left . . . actually not" continued Hellmuth.

"Just ship it! Any flush draw, any pair . . . even a pair of threes is enough!" stated Negreanu.

Negreanu does however have over fifty big blinds as he sits with 51,000 in chips.

Sabat Keeps Doubling

Action folded to a player in the small blind who raised to 2,200. Edward Sabat re-raised to 9,200 and his opponent moved all in. Sabat snapped in off.

Sabbat was racing with {A-}{K-} against his opponent's {7-}{7-}, and when the board came {J-}{10-} X X {Q-} he doubled to 54,000 chips.

King-High

The board read {5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{J-Hearts} and there was about 5,500 in the pot when a player in the small blind checked to Jon Friedberg who bet 3,800. A player on the button called and the player in the small blind released.

Both players checked the {a-Diamonds} on the turn and the {4-Diamonds} on the river.

Friedberg tabled {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for king-high and his opponent mucked. Friedberg is now up to 47,000 chips.

Final Level of Play

This will be the last level of play for the remaining 180 players.

There is a slight possibility of reaching the money, but it will be expected that play will tighten up as we close in on that magic number of 126.

Two Pair Trouble For Barbieri

On a board reading {4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{A-Hearts}{5-Clubs} Alex Yen fired out a bet of 5,000 into a pot of roughly 8,000.

Al Barbieri went deep into the tank until the clock was called on him.

"How long has it been?" asked the Tournament Director.

"Long! Holy crap!" responded Barbieri.

Barbieri then proceeded to stand up out of his chair before almost sliding his stack into the pot only to pull them back quickly before it was deemed as a call.

As the Tournament Director counted down till just ten seconds remained, Barbieri made the call as the dealer produced the {3-Clubs} on the river.

"I'm all in" announced Yen.

With Yen acting out of turn and the Tournament Director still there, Barbieri asked for a ruling. Consequently - as per WSOP rules and regulations - the Tournament Director announced, "his [Yen's] action is not binding, it's heads up. The ruling is you're first to act."

Barbieri checked and Yen eventually moved all in with Barbieri making the call.

Unfortunately Barbieri was unable to best Yen's {A-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and mucked his hand while slipping to 28,000 as Yen climbed to 47,000 in chips.

Traniello Doubles

On a flop of {6-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{7-Hearts} and around 6,400 in the middle, Marco Traniello moved all in for his last 17,900.

After a few minutes of deliberation, one opponent made the call as the third opponent - Andrew Robl - tossed his hand into the muck.

Traniello: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}
Opponent: {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The turn and river of the {2-Spades} and {8-Diamonds} would see Traniello scoop the pot to climb to over 41,000 in chips.

Oh Brother!

"Surely I can only laugh about this!"
"Surely I can only laugh about this!"

With around 14,500 in the pot and the flop reading {8-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} Daniel Negreanu was faced with a bet from his opponent in the small blind totalling 12,000.

Negreanu shuffled some chips, adjusted a few of his chip stacks before checking his cards once more only to announce he was all in and slide his 79,000-chip stack into the middle.

"Allright I call" stated Negreanu's opponent for his 41,400 total.

Negreanu: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

"I'm testing a theory . . . I haven't made a flush all tournament!" added Negreanu as the dealer dealt the {7-Hearts} on the turn to give Negreanu additional outs to make a straight.

The river landed the {K-Hearts} and immediately Negreanu stood up and began a Phil Hellmuth-esque tirade.

"No straights, no flushes, no nothing!"

"This is like the thirtieth in a row this World Series!"

With Negreanu's table based on the rail and at least twenty people watching on, they all remained dead silent as he continued.

"Oh brother!"

"Never going to happen for me!"

"This is just unbelievable!"

Negreanu however is still alive with around 38,000 in chips.
