A Gift That Almost Wasn't

A player in middle position opened to 1,225 and Dean Hamrick re-raised to 3,475. His opponent put in a huge four-bet to 15,000 and Hamrick moved all in for just 2,000 more. His opponent made a crying call and the hands were tabled:

Showdown
Hamrick: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Opponent {6-Spades}{2-Hearts} (oops)

Hamrick stood up after the flop fell {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, convinced that he was done. Fortunately for him the {A-Diamonds} turned giving him the lead again. The {3-Hearts} bricked on the river and Hamrick doubled to 38,000 chips.

I'm smiling because I'm still Phil Ivey

After opening and having opponent three-bet him, Phil Ivey went deep into the tank before four-bet shoving all in. His opponent snapped it off with {A-}{K-} and Ivey tabled {q-}{j-}.

After a low flop, a king turned sealing the deal and Mr. Ivey hit the rail.

Robl Chips Up

After entering the pot with a raise, Andrew Robl was soon faced with a 2,500-chip three-bet from an opponent on the button.

With the action back on Robl he took his time before bumping it 6,300 as his opponent went deep into the tank before finding a call.

The flop fell down {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and after looking up his opponent's 9,000-chip stack, Robl fired out 3,050 only to prompt a fold from his opponent.

Robl is now up to 57,000 in chips.

One for Beantown

Survivor winner "Boston" Rob Mariano is in the field today and just doubled through an opponent on Table 49.

Mariano was all in with {K-Spades}{J-Spades} against an opponent's {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and the board ran {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

Clearly Mariano made a straight, but the dealer announced, "Ace high wins."

After a moment for clarification Boston Rob was awarded the pot and now sits with 20,000 chips.
