Ryan Rivers, who if you recall finished runner-up in last night's Event #10 for $6,000, was cruising along here in Event #12, but all of a sudden it took a turn for the worst.
We missed the two hands that led to his demise, but we were informed of what happened by the players at his table. According to them, Rivers was crippled after playing a big pot holding against a player who got all in for 85,000 or so with . The flop gave Rivers' opponent a straight, and then the turn and river both blanked.
Not long after, Rivers got the last of his chips holding a of his own and was racing against the of Matt De Dominicis. The small pocket pair held, and just like that Rivers found himself on the rail just shy of the dinner break.

Andy Spears is becoming more and more dangerous as this tournament progresses, now crossing the 250,000-chip mark shortly after the dinner break. Spears min-raised to 16,000 from the hijack and Hoss Colao three-bet to 40,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Spears and he four-bet shoved for around 200,000 total. Colao wasted little time in folding, giving Spears a nice pot without seeing a flop.

We missed the preflop action, but we do know that a raising war resulted in Art Demmerley getting his stack of 170,000 or so all in against Glenn Pawlowski.

Pawlowski:
Demmerley was behind and in need of some help. The flop didn't hit him directly, but it did give him an open-ended straight draw. Unfortunately for him, neither the turn nor river completed it.
Demmerley was sent out the door in 27th place while Demmerley hit 400K in chips!
