Verel held a set of aces, but Gathy had turned the queen-high flush. Verel was looking for the board to pair or another spade, but it was not to be as the river fell the , and the Day 3 chip leader was eliminated.
It was a fantastic run for Verel, who was a relative unknown at the WSOP. He collects a nice payday for his efforts.

Adam Sherman opened to 1,000,000 from middle position and Ignacio Moron from the big blind asked how much Sherman was playing.
"Uhh, about 11 million back," said Sherman a little tentatively.
Moron moved all-in for the bigger stack and Sherman folded.
"I guess they are going to three-bet me," he said.
On the next hand, Sherman opened again, this time to 800,000. Moron called from the small blind and they saw the flop.
Moron checked, Sherman bet 1,200,000 and Moron laid it down.

Turker and his rail saw the bad news and were looking for some help. The flop came . The dealer put down the turn while Turker's rail and Adam Sherman were yelling for an eight or jack on the river. Instead, the came to eliminate Turker.
Sherman said his rooting for Turker to hit was nothing personal and he would've been rooting for Lazrus to stay alive if he were the short stack, but Lazrus didn't seem to mind as he took the chips to add to his stack and the final table is now without another player.
