Stephen Song Eliminated In 11th Place ($66,480)

Level 34 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Stephen Song
Stephen Song

Action folded to Stephen Song in the small blind and he ripped it in for his last 5,600,000.

Michael Gathy called in the big blind and Song was at risk.

Stephen Song: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Michael Gathy: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, no help for Song as he was eliminated.

Song picks up more than $60,000 for his great run.

Things escalated quickly on the {k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Spades} turn. Michael Gathy bet before Verel instantly moved all-in and Gathy put the chips in just as fast.

Philip Verel: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Michael Gathy: {q-Spades}{9-Spades}

Verel held a set of aces, but Gathy had turned the queen-high flush. Verel was looking for the board to pair or another spade, but it was not to be as the river fell the {4-Hearts}, and the Day 3 chip leader was eliminated.

It was a fantastic run for Verel, who was a relative unknown at the WSOP. He collects a nice payday for his efforts.

Meanwhile, four-time bracelet winner Michael Gathy moves into the chip lead.

Sherman, Moron Trade Pots

Level 34 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Adam Sherman
Adam Sherman

Adam Sherman opened to 1,000,000 from middle position and Ignacio Moron from the big blind asked how much Sherman was playing.

"Uhh, about 11 million back," said Sherman a little tentatively.

Moron moved all-in for the bigger stack and Sherman folded.

"I guess they are going to three-bet me," he said.

On the next hand, Sherman opened again, this time to 800,000. Moron called from the small blind and they saw the {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop.

Moron checked, Sherman bet 1,200,000 and Moron laid it down.

Sertac Turker Eliminated in 9th Place ($83,545)

Level 34 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Sertac Turker
Sertac Turker

Daniel Lazrus raised to 800,000 from early position and Sertac Turker jammed for around 5.5 million from the small blind. Lazrus called and hands were revealed.

Sertac Turker: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Daniel Lazrus: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Turker and his rail saw the bad news and were looking for some help. The flop came {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}. The dealer put down the {10-Spades} turn while Turker's rail and Adam Sherman were yelling for an eight or jack on the river. Instead, the {4-Hearts} came to eliminate Turker.

Sherman said his rooting for Turker to hit was nothing personal and he would've been rooting for Lazrus to stay alive if he were the short stack, but Lazrus didn't seem to mind as he took the chips to add to his stack and the final table is now without another player.

Ignacio Moron
Ignacio Moron

Ignacio Moron opened to 800,000 from early position and Adam Sherman three-bet to 3,200,000 to take it down.

Sherman opened the button to 800,000 and he collected the blinds.

Daniel Lazrus raised the button to 800,000 and Moron moved all-in in the big blind to force the fold.

On the next hand, Moron moved all-in again, putting Kevin Palmer to the test in the big blind. Palmer laid it down and Moron collected the chips.

Saffron Finds Ace to Double Through Moron's Jacks

Level 35 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Todd Saffron jammed for his remaining 4.5 million preflop and Ignacio Moron called.

Todd Saffron: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}
Ignacio Moron: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Moron was in the lead until the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop. Moron needed a jack or to complete his Broadway draw but the {q-Clubs} turn and {2-Clubs} river kept Saffron alive.

Kevin Palmer
Kevin Palmer

Action folded to Ignacio Moron in the small blind and he moved all-in on Kevin Palmer, just as he did in the last orbit, and Palmer let it go again.

On the next hand, Michael Gathy raised to 1,000,000 and Palmer moved all-in for 3,850,000 more.

Gathy looked up to the sky, calculating his odds to himself before electing to fold.
