Welcome to Day 1b of the 888poker LIVE Barcelona Main Event at Casino Barcelona
The World Series of Poker is in full swing, but PokerNews is also here in sunny Barcelona to cover the 2018 888poker LIVE Barcelona €1,100 Main Event at Casino Barcelona.
The 888poker LIVE Barcelona festival features many action-packed tournaments with a total of $1 million in guaranteed prize pools. More than half of this, or €500,000 is guaranteed for the Main Event alone.
The Main Event kicked off yesterday with an exciting Day 1a. Day 1b is set to kick off today at 6 p.m. followed by Day 1c at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 2.
Players can reenter throughout any of the opening flights and up until the start of Day 2 on June 3. Players surviving the penultimate day will compete for one more final day on June 4 until a champion is declared.
The 888poker LIVE Barcelona Main Event is a deep-stacked affair with players starting off with 30,000 in chips and blinds increasing every 45 minutes. All three opening flights will feature 12 blind levels.
The structure of the Main Event will be deeper on Day 2 and beyond with blinds increasing every hour.

When tough decisions pop-up, players are provided two time bank tokens during Day 1b that they can use to get an extra 30 seconds to act.

Yesterday, Jon Kyte took seventh place in the 888poker LIVE Barcelona €2,200 High Roller for €9,500. The action went late into the night but with the late start today, Kyte hopped into the Main Event.
The Norwegian is off to a good start. In a recent hand, he raised under the gun to 250 and got a caller from a player in middle position. He took down the pot with a continuation bet of 300 after the flop came 
.
His friend, Stien Knutsen, that came to Barcelona with Kyte from Norway was sitting next to him and Kyte asked him to turn over one card. The 
was turned over and Kyte laughed and said, "wrong one."
His friend laughed and Kyte said, "the other one was the same."
The other hole card was never exposed, so it’s anyone’s guess if Kyte had a set or not.

Straight is Good Enough for Just Vivancos

. Isidre Just Vivancos and Nawal Jaftha both called.
Dogra Dogra checked before Just Vivancos bet 2,500 after the appeared on the turn. Jaftha called while Dogra Dogra folded.
Both remaining players checked after the 
completed the board on the river.
Just Vivancos turned over 
for a straight which was more than good to collect a healthy pot after Jaftha turned over 
for top two pair.
