Abrahams Runs Into Chan's Set

Javed Abrahams Eliminated
Javed Abrahams Eliminated
On a board of {3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} Johnny Chan bet out for 10,000 before Javed Abrahams moved all in for 22,000. Chan made the call.

Chan: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Abrahams: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

Abrahams had spiked top pair but Chan's set of fours left Abrahams drawing dead.

The river was a meaningless {7-Hearts} as Abrahams exits the tournament floor and Chan moves up to 65,000 chips.

Ma Tops Chan

A hand at one of our two tables went deep into the break. With the board showing {K-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}, Johnny Chan checked from the small blind, then called when Wei Will Ma bet 12,000. On the river {10-Clubs}, Chan checked again and Ma bet 20,000.

"Ace-five?" Chan asked. "I don't think you have ace-five." A pause. "You might have ace-five."

Finally Chan decided to call. "Show me your ace-five," he said, throwing chips into the middle. Ma opened {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} for top pair, and Chan mucked.

Sirens Doubles Through Timex

Van Marcus
Van Marcus
Mike "Timex" McDonald raised to 5,000 from the button, before Van Marcus popped it up to 17,500 from the big blind. McDonald then moved all in and Marcus made the call for his tournament life.

Marcus: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
McDonald: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

With Marcus yelling "HOLD! One time!" the board landed {J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} to send the pot to Marcus as he doubles up to 95,000 with McDonald back to 87,000.

"The Machine" Rolls On

David Steicke
David Steicke
Mike "Timex" McDonald raised to 4,500 from late position and David Steicke defended in the big blind.

The flop came down {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Steicke led out with a bet of 7,500. McDonald made the call. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and Steicke fired out another 10,000. McDonald then announced a raise to 27,000. Steicke made the call as a huge pot was brewing.

The river landed the {Q-Spades} and Steicke put out a blocking bet of 17,500. McDonald went into the tank and even with so much in the middle, he decided to fold his hand.

With cries of "show the bluff" from the table, Steicke flashed {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the flopped flush and was thankful McDonald didn't have the ace or king of diamonds.

"You are a machine!" said Andrew Scott as Steicke cracks the 200,000 barrier.

Steicke Magic Missing Against McDonald

David Steicke has proven himself to be a bit of a swami over the last week but he made a misstep against Michael "Timex" McDonald. Steicke raised to 4,800 preflop and McDonald called out of the big blind. On a dry board of {5-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {2-Clubs}, Steicke again bet 4,800 after McDonald checked. McDonald called to the {9-Hearts} turn, which both players checked. On the river {9-Diamonds}, McDonald fired out for 15,000. Steicke calmly surveyed the situation for about a minute then called. He couldn't beat {Q-Hearts} {J-Clubs}, the hand that McDonald turned over.

Don't cry for Steicke. He still has 192,000. McDonald now has 75,000.

Assadourian's Quest Continues

Eric Assadourian raised it up to 5,000 from the button before Quinn Do popped it up to 17,000 from the small blind. Assadourian then moved all for his last 85,000 and Do went into the tank.

Do eventually folded his hand as Assadourian continues his quest for back-to-back APPT Macau High Roller titles as he climbs to 110,000 chips.
