Yu Doubles Through Mr Hendy

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The completed board showed 522AJ and Mr Hendy checked with a pot of around 20,500 brewing until then. Jenam Yu moved all-in for 19,100 in the cutoff and Mr Hendy was sent into the tank. He eventually called and Yu flipped over the A2 for deuces full of aces, while Mr Hendy sighed and exposed the A6.

Ghosh Eliminated by Kim

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

In the last hand prior to the break, a pot of some 11,000 emerged to the A728 turn on which Chang Hyeon Kim bet 2,500. Ashish Ghosh raised to 8,500 for Kim to come along, albeit reluctantly.

The J river completed the board and Kim bet once more, making it 3,500 to go. Ghosh moved all-in for 15,000 and received a snap-call by Kim with the 109 for the nuts as Ghosh mucked his 87 with a lot of frustration.

Alexander Puchalski wins the 2022 APPT Cambodia Main Event

For the second year in a row, the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) returns to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The festival at the five-star NagaWorld Integrated Resort in the heart of Phnom Penh already kicked off on May 5, 2023, and is set to conclude on Monday, May 15, with the conclusion of the 2023 APPT Cambodia Main Event, among other tournaments.

Highlight on the schedule is the $1,500 Main Event, which features three starting days for the first time and a guarantee of $400,000. Each of the three flight allows for a single re-entry and all those players who already qualified for Day 2 cannot enter any of the subsequent starting days in order to accumulate an even larger stack.

Defending champion is Canada's Alexander Puchalski, who came out on top of a 378-entry strong field after defeating India's Akshay Kapoor in heads-up. Notable finalists in November 2022 were Yu-Chung "Nevan" Chang, Markus Garberg, and Michael Soyza. The latter won't make the trip to Phnom Penh this time, as he is busy during the latest Triton Poker stop in Northern Cyprus.

All participants receive 30,000 in chips and the first two regular starting days on May 12 and 13 feature levels of 40 minutes each, while the final turbo heat 1c has a shortened level duration of just 20 minutes. Approximately 15% of the field will be paid and the penultimate tournament Day on May 14 then plays down to the nine-handed final table. As of then, a 30-second shot clock will be introduced as well.

Other tournaments to look out for include a $550 Mystery Bounty Event, a $10,000 Super High Roller, the $350 NAGAWORLD Kickoff with a $50,000 guarantee, the $800 APPT National, and a $2,000 Mini High Roller.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor in the grand ballroom at Naga 1 to cover all the action from the $1,500 Main Event from start to finish.
