Race Off

The tournament clock has been paused while the dealers assist the players with a race off of the $25 denomination chips.

Rousso Eliminated

Just before the end of the seventh level of play, Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso lost a race that put an end to her Macau main event. Rousso came over the top of an opponent's 1,600 pre-flop raise and made it a total of 9,300 to go. Her opponent made the call and tabled {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}; Rousso turned over pocket nines.

Rousso's opponent managed to hit both of his hole cards, as the board filled out: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, sending the young pro to the rail about three quarters of the way into Day 1 play.

Hevad Khan Doubles Up

Moments ago, Hevad "Rain" Khan doubled through an unknown opponent after flopping top pair with a flush draw, holding {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} on a {2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs} board. All of the money went in on the flop and Khan's opponent showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} for the nut flush draw.

The {4-Spades} fell on the turn, giving Khan's opponent four additional outs to win the pot, but the {9-Diamonds} on the river locked up the pot for Khan, effectively doubling him through to 58,000 in chips.

Galazan Galagon

American Isaac Galazan was down to his last 3,800 in chips and got them in with the best of it, holding A-10 against an opponent's A-7. It looked as though Galazan would double through, but when the flop brought not one, but two 7's, Galazan instead found himself bidding his adieus.

Liz Lieu's Chips Take a Leave of Absence

From mid-position, Liz Lieu made it 2,500 to go and when the action got around to Brian Tate in the cutoff, he moved all in over the top of Lieu's raise for a total of 14,700. Lieu tanked for quite some time before eventually making the call with {A-Spades}{K-Spades}; Tate tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and we were off to the races.

The board filled out {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Tate's tens would hold to take down the pot and 32,000 new chips. After the hand, Lieu was left with just 10,000 in chips.

Tony Hachem Out

Tony Hachem moves his last 10,000 into the pot with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and is called by the big blind with {A-Spades}{K-Spades}. The flop comes {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} giving his opponent top pair with the nut flush draw, and Tony a gutshot straight draw. The turn card is the {3-Diamonds} giving Tony a flush draw, but the {7-Spades} on the river means goodnight for Hachem.

Joe Hachem In!

Though half of the Hachem contingent is no longer with us, the other half (Joe) is still alive and thriving. In a recent hand, Joe picked up aces for (at least) a third time today and hit a dream flop, {10-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, against an opponent who held {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Needless to say, all of the money got in on the flop and Hachem took down the pot, improving to a full house when the {10-Spades} popped off on the river.

After the hand, Joe stacked up just over 60,000 in chips.
