Jani Maekinen Doubles Up

Jani Maekinen just doubled up in dramatic fashion, getting all of his money in holding pocket aces on a {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{A-Diamonds} board, slightly behind against an opponent who called with {10-Spades}{J-Diamonds} or, the nuts.

With one card to come, Maekinen would need to hit one of his ten outs to stay alive, and sure enough, the {2-Diamonds} feel on the river giving him a pot-clinching full house. Afterwards, Maekinen stacked up just under 30,000 in chips.

Lee Nelson Eliminated

Team PokerStars player Lee "Final Table" Nelson was just eliminated from the tournament by Mischa Peters; here's how the hand went down:

Nelson made it 600 to go from under the gun and was called by Peters in the big blind. Peters checked in the dark to Nelson and when the flop came {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, Nelson moved all in for his last 2,900; Peters made the call.

Nelson: {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Peters: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Nelson increased his grip on the hand when the turn brought him a third queen, but the {4-Diamonds} on the river gave Peters an ace-high flush, eliminating Nelson from the tournament.

Peters stacked up 17,000 in chips after the hand.

Ugly River for Tony Hachem

We caught up to this hand on the flop, with the board showing {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Bradley Fu led out with a 1,500 bet and Tony Hachem made the call. The {Q-Diamonds} fell on the turn and this time it was Hachem who led the betting, firing a 2,000 bullet. Fu responded with a raise, making it 4,000 to go and Tony called.

The river brought the {10-Clubs} and both players knuckled the table. At the showdown, Fu revealed {J-Spades}{10-Spades} for a rivered pair of tens; Hachem showed pocket eights before mucking his cards.

Kim Snags Chip Lead

A cautious Ho Sung Kim took quite some time to call an opponent's all-in bet on a board of {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, holding pocket queens. In the end, he would be glad he did as his opponent turned over {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a stone cold bluff. The turn and river blanked out and Kim scooped up the 53,000 pot along with the tournament chip lead.

Kagawi Scoops 40k Pot

With the board showing {8-Spades}{K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, Masaaki Kagawa put his opponent all in holding {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. His opponent made the call and tabled {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}, well behind Kagawa's two pair. The river blanked ({2-Spades}) and Kagawa would go on to add the monster pot to his stack.

Jonny Vincent Doubles Up

Short-stacked, Jonny Vincent moved the last of his chips into the middle holding pocket eights and found himself in a classic coinflip situation against an opponent holding {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}.

The board filled out {Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Vincent's eights held up, effectively doubling him up to 6,500 in chips.
