"D" Stands for Double Up

Tony D
Tony D
"The lucky Tony D," as Danny McDonagh called him, just doubled up through fellow Aussie Angelo Tringas. On a jack-high board, Tony Dunst check-called an 18,000 bet from Tringas holding pocket jacks - the mortal nuts. The turn brought a four and once again, Tony passed the first action to Tringas who put Dunst all in. Tony D made the call and Tringas tabled pocket kings, well behind Dunst's set of jacks.

Unable to catch a third king on the river, Tringas was left with just 20,000 in chips, while Tony D doubled through to 160,000.

Seet Takes a Hit

Nathanuel Seet took a hit after a raising war with Mitchell Price. On a flop of {J-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{8-Hearts} Seet bet 4,000. Price quickly raised to 8,000 and Seet then re-raised to 20,000. Price raised him straight back going all in for a further 40,000 and Seet went into the tank before eventually folding.

Seet Bounces Straight Back

It didn't take Nathaneal Seet very long to win a big pot after his clash with Mitchell Price.

The action was four handed to the flop and a local player pushed all in when the flop came {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Seet re-raised leaving the action isolated. Seet rolled over {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} which was dominating his opponent's {Q-Spades}{6-Spades}. When the {5-Spades} came on the turn Seet had won the pot and now has more than 100,000 in chips.

Dinner Break

The tournament clock has been paused while the players take a 50-minute dinner break. 61 players remain in the tournament. Once play resumes, we'll play four more levels before we close for the evening.

Grant Levy, Terrence Chan and Tony Dunst are some of the names at the top of the leaderboard at the break.

We'll be back at approximately 8:00 p.m. local time. Stay with us!

The players have returned from their dinner break and the cards are back in the air... or not (please refer to our earlier post regarding Star City's dealer shoes).

Tino Lechich Takes Down a Pot

In a battle of the blinds Tino Lechich makes it 2,500 and is quickly called by the BB. When the flop comes {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} Lechich fires for 2,000 and is re-raised by the BB to 5,000. Lechich instantly raises all in for 22,000 in total. The BB goes into the tank and eventually folds his hand.
