Aaron Lerner Eliminated

On a flop of {3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades} Aaron Lerner pushed his chips into the middle with {6-Clubs}{9-Spades} for an open-ended straight draw. Unfortunately for him his opponent held {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and made the call. The turn and river blanked and Aaron Lerner was eliminated.

Goldberg Takes a Bite Out of The Croc

In pre-flop action a early position player makes a raise to 2,400 and Billy "The Croc" Argyros pops it up to 6,400. Glen Goldberg then pushes his 60,000 chip stack over the top to put his opponents to a big decision. The inital raiser folds, and Crocky goes into the tank for what seems like an enternity before eventually laying down his hand. Crocky is now left with only 17,000 in chips.

Derek Lerner Eliminated

An early position player limps pre-flop and Derek Lerner shoves all of his 7,000 chips into the pot. The limper calls with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, Lerner shows {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and we're off to the races! The flop of {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts} was not what Lerner was looking for. The turn and river blanked and although Lerner was eliminated from the tournament he wins the last longer bet with his brother.

Joe Hachem Eliminates Chris Levick

Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem
"It's so good to (finally) put a bad beat on someone," said Joe Hachem after he eliminated Chris Levick from the tournament. With the blinds at 300-600, Levick opened the pot from under-the-gun with a 3,000 raise. The action then folded around to Hachem in the big blind, who re-popped it to 6,000. Levick tossed in a single $5,000 chip and made the call.

The flop came down {5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Hachem led out with a 6,000 bet. Levick then moved all in over the top of Hachem's bet for approximately 14,000 more and Hachem made the call in a flash, turning over {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for the stone cold nuts! Levick tabled a pocket pair of tens and would need to hit perfect-perfect on the turn and river to stay alive. The turn cooperated, bringing the {7-Clubs} which gave Levick four outs to a full house, but the river card was a dud ({Q-Diamonds}), ending Levick's main event.

Benson Strikes Again

Three players saw a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, including Gary Benson. Benson checks, player one bets 1,000 into the pot and player two calls. Benson then check-raises to 4,300 with {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and both opponents call, one for the remainder of his chips.

The turn is {2-Hearts} and Benson fires another 7,000 into a dry side pot to drive out the second player and get the pot heads-up with the short stack.

Benson flips his card saying "I need a heart..." but when the short-stack reveals {K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, Benson is a little shocked and has to correct himself "...oh no I don't, just no eight!". The {A-Diamonds} hits on the river and Benson adds to his impressive stack of chips.

Slow Play Regrets

In a slow played pot Carter Gill was able to catch up on the turn with a well disguised hand. Holding {5-Spades}{3-Clubs} on a flop of {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}, both Gill and his opponent checked the flop allowing Gill to catch up on the turn which brings the {4-Hearts}. The money goes into the middle as his opponent reveals {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a slowly played flopped two pair. A {10-Spades} on the river and Gill is up to around 70,000 in chips

Hachem Surging

With the board reading {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, Hachem takes control of the hand against two opponents by betting 6,000 on the turn. One folds, but the second player thinks before making the call. The river is the {7-Hearts} and Hachem fires out another 10,000 into the pot which is called. Hachem reveals {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a full house which is good enough to capture the sizeable pot.

Lily Bui Survives In Chopped Pot

Lily Bui
Lily Bui
Lily Bui had been waiting patiently for a decent hand to resurrect her tournament, and when she looked down at pocket jacks from under the gun, she decided to push her short stack into the middle. Her bet was called by a player holding pocket nines and Bui cringed as it was the same hand that had crippled her earlier in the day.

The flop of {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} was scary for Bui, but not as scary as the {9-Spades} which landed on the turn. Bui was left drawing very slim, but amazingly the {7-Diamonds} on the river put a straight on the board, and Bui survives as both players chop up the pot.

Gary Lent Eliminated

Gary Lent
Gary Lent
With a raise and re-raise in front of him, Gary Lent looked down at pocket jacks and had a big decision to make. He decided that aggression was the way to go, and shoved the rest of his chips into the pot over the top of both players. One player folded but he couldn't get past player number two who made an ambitious call with {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. However, when the flop came {8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, ambition had turned into the stone cold nuts, leaving Lent in desperate trouble. The turn and river blanked and Lent was unlucky to be heading to the rail.
