Takayama Busts Two

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Mike Takayama made it 17,000 and Jiajie Liang called in the big blind. The flop came {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and after Liang checked, Takayama pushed out a stack of yellow 5,000 chips.

Liang pushed in, Takayama called and the cards were turned over. It was {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} in the lead for Liang against Takayama's {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} but the {a-Spades} turn changed everything.

Takayama suddenly had top pair and busted Liang after the {5-Diamonds} river.

The very next hand Takayama called a shove from a short stack with {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} against the shorty's {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and used a little run good sauce to bust him on the {7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Spades} run out.

Giang Busts One; Down to 18

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Tolon Wilson Mantupar open shoved {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for 58,000 and Daniel Giang made the call with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}.

Mantupar took the lead on the {10-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop, but Giang picked up a flush draw on the {3-Clubs} turn. On the end the {j-Diamonds} came down giving Giang a straight, sending Mantupar home and the field is now combining to the two final tables of nine.

Two More Go Down

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On one table, Edwin Nava shipped it in over a Czardy Rivera raise and Hiroshi Naito shipped it in for more. Rivera folded and it was Nava's {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} against Naito's {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. Big slick held on a {4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Spades} board.

Meanwhile, over on the other table, Anyang Xu ended up all in preflop with {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} against Michael Guzzardi's {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and big slick lost on a {6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{K-Hearts} run out.

Haggart Hung

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Christian Haggart
Christian Haggart

Christan Haggart open shoved {a-Spades}{8-Hearts} and got the call from Victor Chong on {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}. He doubled up on the {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} run out leaving Chong short.

But Haggart shoved again the very next hand with {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and got looked up by chip leader Michael Guzzardi with {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. He was eliminated on the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} run out that made Guzzardi a flush and pushed him up to one million in chips.

Rivera Rivered

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Czardy Rivera looked good to double up or at least survive with a chop getting it in with {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} versus Thanh Ha Duong's {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

However, the {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{j-Spades} flop gave Duong a flush draw and although the {8-Hearts} turn was a brick, the {8-Spades} river completed it, knocking Rivera to the rail.
