Stacy Undeterred By The Leads

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ken Stacy
Ken Stacy

Ken Stacy pumped it up to 2,000 in the hijack and action folded around to the big blind, who defended. The flop dropped {6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and the big blind led out with a bet of 2,000. Stacy raised to 6,000 and the big blind called.

The turn came {a-Hearts} and the big blind led out again, this time for 3,000. Stacy called, bringing the river {10-Clubs}, and the big blind led out once more for 6,000. Stacy called to take the hand to showdown.

Upon calling, Stacy showed {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. The big blind lifted up her second-best hand, flashing it in Stacy's direction, and then sent it to the muck to earn Stacy the pot.

Pupillo Gets a Fold

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

A three-bet pot preflop saw a pile of chips in the middle on a board of {j-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} with action heads up between Nick Pupillo in the cutoff and his opponent, who was under the gun.

Pupillo's opponent check-called 3,200 and the turn came {6-Clubs}. The player checked again and Pupillo threw another 9,000 forward.

"You've got to have it this time, right?" asked his opponent after some thought, and then took another handful of seconds before giving up contention of the hand.

Holladay Over Six Figures

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Dustin Holladay
Dustin Holladay

All of the chips had gone into the middle with a short-stacked small blind at risk for his last 7,000 or so against Dustin Holladay, who was under the gun.

All-In Player: {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Dustin Holladay: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The all-in player was already out of his seat and well on his way by the time the runout {k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{4-Spades} completed. With the pot, Holladay now finds himself over 100,000, becoming the first player in the room to be spotted having reached that figure.

Valdez Flips Well

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Starr Valdez
Starr Valdez

Starr Valdez was just overheard talking to her tablemate about how the two are now "dangerous". Apparently, both players were down to around 7,000 and have recently won pots to work their way back towards starting stack.

Valdez recounted her hand, saying a player with slightly less than her got all in preflop to send the two off to the races.

All-In Player: {j-}{j-}
Starr Valdez: {a-}{k-}

"I won the flip," said Valdez of the result and she now has over 17,000 once more.

Valdez has already experienced some success this series, making the final table in Event #5: $360 Monster Stack NLH. In that event, 222 entries worked their way down to the final five before agreeing to a deal that resulted in Valdez earning a third-place finish good for $9,000.

"That'll Do It!"

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Ken Stacy raised to 2,000 under the gun and received a call from Timothy Miles in the hijack. Action then folded to the small blind, who also called, and the three checked through the flop {8-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

The turn came {k-Spades} and the small blind checked again. Stacy bet 3,200, receiving a call from Miles and a fold from the small blind to take action heads up to the river {4-Spades}. Stacy bet once more, putting two 1,000-chips into the middle and sending Miles into the tank.

Eventually, Miles reached for chips and put in a raise to 13,500. Stacy considered his decision for just under a minute and then tossed in chips to call.

Miles showed {a-Spades}{2-Spades} for the nuts.

"That'll do it!" said Stacy, acknowledging Miles' hand and sending his own two cards to the muck. With the pot, Miles is now over 60,000.

McNulty Tramples Two

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Thad McNulty
Thad McNulty

A three-way all-in preflop scenario on Table 54 just created a bit of commotion, with Thad McNulty in the hijack having the players both on the button and in the small blind at risk for their tournament lives and in bad shape. One of the two players was all in for 16,800, while the other covered by a mere 500.

Small Blind: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Player on the Button: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Thad McNulty: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

A king on the flop {2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Hearts} all but sealed the deal for McNulty to scoop, needing to only fade running hearts to do so. The turn {8-Diamonds} made it certain, and the river {10-Hearts} completed the runout to send two players to the rail before the pot of roughly 50,000 was shipped to McNulty, and he now has 120,000.
