Li Cracks Wang's Aces to Survive

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Chun Li
Chun Li

Mark Steinberg limped in from under the gun and Brian Altman raised to 20,000 from early position. Michael Wang called and it folded to Chun Li in the small blind who moved all in for 94,000.

Altman re-shoved all in and Wang nearly bet him into the pot for his last 191,000.

Chun Li: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Michael Wang: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Brian Altman: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

Wang was poised to scoop the biggest pot of the tournament and take the chip lead holding pocket aces.

The dealer fanned the {j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop and Wang maintained the lead. Li called for a ten and right on cue the {10-Clubs} hit the turn. Li spiked his two outer to improve to a full house and put a hammerlock on the hand.

The {3-Diamonds} completed the board and Li let out a fist pump as he tripled up.

The eliminations at the final table continue at a rapid pace and Jaime DeGennaro was the next to fall. DeGennaro is our eighth place finisher and he will take home $2,289.

Mike Marder was the next to hit the rail when he got his stack all in pre-flop holding {a-Spades}{j-Spades} against the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} of Michael Wang and the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} of James Tarantino.

Once again Wang was in a great spot to score a double knockout but Tarantino improved to a flush to stay alive. Marder was eliminated in seventh place and he takes home $2,862 for his efforts.
