Christian Harder Eliminated in 7th Place ($10,059)

Level 21 : 8,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Christian Harder
Christian Harder

Christian Harder just hit the rail after his pocket aces were cracked by Michael Kemeter.

Some of the detail escaped us but we do know Harder bet a {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and Kemeter called. On the {6-Diamonds} turn, Kemeter checked and Harder bet again. Kemeter check-raised all in and Harder called off.

Michael Kemeter: {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Christian Harder: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Kemeter was ahead with his set and held on the {3-Hearts} river.

Scott Efron Eliminated in 6th Place ($13,017)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Scott Efron
Scott Efron

Kevin Javier raised under the gun and Scott Efron three-bet all in for around 475,000 next to act. Action folded back to Javier and he snap-called.

Kevin Javier: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Scott Efron: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Javier had the better ace and the kicker made all the difference after the board ran out {3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

Shiraz Hasan Eliminated in 5th Place ($17,751)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Shiraz Hasan
Shiraz Hasan

Shiraz Hasan got his last 557,000 all in preflop and was flipping for his tournament life against Jeff Trudeau, who had a stack of 677,000.

Shiraz Hasan: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Jeff Trudeau: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The {9-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop was a disaster for Hasan as Trudeau flopped a full boat. The {2-Hearts} turn left him drawing dead and he headed for the exit after the meaningless {5-Hearts} was run out on the river.

Michael Kemeter Eliminated in 4th Place ($22,485)

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Michael Kemeter
Michael Kemeter

Michael Kemeter is a 6-max master here at Borgata with three titles to his name and a couple of other final table appearances. He had high hopes of capturing his fourth 6-max title but those dreams were just flushed down the drain.

With around 500,000 in the pot and a board reading {6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{q-Spades}, Kemeter bet 325,000 from the big blind and left himself around 500,000 back.

Kevin Javier raised all in from the button and Kemeter wasted little time in calling off.

Michael Kemeter: {6-Spades}{8-Spades}
Kevin Javier: {10-Spades}{4-Spades}

Both players had rivered a spade flush but Javier's was slightly better to give him the monster pot.

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Chris O'Neil
Chris O'Neil

Start-of-the-day chip leader Chris O'Neil open-jammed for around 500,000 from the button and Jeff Trudeau shoved over the top from the small blind. Kevin Javier got out of the way and O'Neil was in bad shape.

Chris O'Neil: {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Jeff Trudeau: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

O'Neil was looking for some major help but didn't even get a sweat as the board ran out a dry {2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

Jeff Trudeau Eliminated in 2nd Place ($37,277)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Jeff Trudeau
Jeff Trudeau

Six-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Jeff Trudeau made a little headway in the heads-up match but his comeback just came up short in a big hand.

It began when Trudeau raised the button to 75,000 and Javier defended to see a {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Spades} flop. Javier led out for 60,000, Trudeau called, and the {a-Spades} appeared on the turn.

Javier bet again, this time 180,000, and Trudeau called to see the {6-Diamonds} river. Javier bet for the third time making it 740,000 and then snap-called when Trudeau jammed for what looked like 1.5 million.

Kevin Javier: {j-Spades}{7-Spades}
Jeff Trudeau: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Javier had the flush that Trudeau looked to be representing and locked up his first major title. Trudeau exited in second place for $37,277.

Kevin Javier Wins 2019 BPO Event #12: $1,090 Six-Max NLH ($62,718)

The 2019 Borgata Poker Open (BPO) Event #12: $1,090 Six-Max NLH began with 244 runners including some heavy hitters in the world of poker. On Saturday, just 18 returned to action and it was 24-year-old Canadian IT networking student Kevin Javier coming out on top to win it outright for $62,718.

“I feel good. This is my biggest score by far,” said Javier, who came to the Borgata for the first time to play poker with a friend. “I think I played great. Heads up was against a really good player. I just got lucky. The field was full of people with big scores, it was very intimidating.”

Prior to the win, Javier had $58,971 in live tournament earnings with a prior career-best of $26,344, which came last month when he finished seventh in the World Series of Poker Circuit Playground Poker Club Main Event.

One huge hand that helped propel Javier to the win came against three-time Borgata 6-max champ Michael Kemeter with four players remaining. Both men rivered a spade flush using both their down cards but Javier’s was slightly better.

“That was definitely the biggest hand of the tournament,” Javier reflected. “It was just a cooler. He couldn’t do much for his part.”

What’s next for Javier?

“[The WPT] Main Event, looking forward to it,” he said with a big smile.
