The final flight of the 2019 Borgata Poker Open Event #9: $300 Deepest Stack NLH saw 394 entry slips sold, bringing the total number of entries for the event to 837. After 16 levels of play, only 70 found a bag and moved onto Day 2 with the biggest stack being owned by Arie Praisman.

Praisman spun up a stack early and ended the day with an immense 921,000 which is good for the overall lead between the two flights. Other big stacks to advance from the second flight include Saad Ghanem (559,000), Corbin Avery (540,000), two-time GCC winner Ryan Eriquezzo (520,000), Hamid Izadi (519,000), and Will Givens (402,000).

Some other well-known players and Borgata regulars to advance are Wooyang Lin (384,000), Nick Palma (336,000), Jason Henrici (305,000), Kevin Garasshen (303,000), James Oconnor (255,000), Rafael Reis (250,000), Leonard Sande (192,000), and Timothy Little (122,000).

The advancing Flight A players will join the Flight B survivors for Day 2 action at noon local time on Tuesday. Official numbers, the prize pool, and payout information will be released tomorrow, which is also when action will play down to a winner.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to capture all the big hands and eliminations, so be sure to join us then.

Palma Scoops with Queen-High, Knocks One Out

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Nick Palma
Nick Palma

Nick Palma opened to 7,000 from middle position and two players called, including Hamid Izadi in the small blind. The dealer spread out {j-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} on the flop and action checked to Palma who bet 8,000.

The third runner in the pot shoved all in for their remaining 12,500 and Izadi folded to Palma who called. The all-in player showed {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for a straight draw and Palma tabled {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for queen-high and the current best hand.

A {j-Hearts} turn and {3-Diamonds} river changed nothing as Palma took down the pot with his queen, eliminating his opponent from the tournament.

"Just how I drew it out!" said Palma as he pulled in the pot.

Two Main Event Borgata Champs in the Field

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Chris Leong
Chris Leong

The field has now reached almost 200 players by the start of level four, two names stand out in Chris Leong and David Jackson. Both have taken home their biggest career cash in this very building.

Jackson took home his biggest cash during the 2019 Borgata Spring Open in the $2,700 Main Event after he bested a 505 entry field to take home an immense $304,929.

The biggest cash on Leong's resume also came in a main event here in the Borgata, during the 2016 Borgata Winter Poker Open for a staggering $816,426. The New York, NY native outlasted a massive 1,171 entry field to take down the title.

Look for these two Borgata regulars to make climb through the ranks en route to another deep run here in the ninth event.

WSOP Bracelet Winner Cracks Kings to Double

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante
Michael Wang
Michael Wang

There was around 9,000 in the pot on a {8-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop when Michael Wang, who back in 2015 won World Series of Poker Event #2: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em for $466,120 and a gold bracelet, got his stack of 32,900 all in against an opponent.

Wang: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Wang was behind but held a spade flush draw to go with his one over. The {7-Clubs} turn was a brick for Wang, but the {7-Spades} that followed was exactly what he was looking for as he made the flush to earn a Level 1 double up.
