Gaspard Takes the Lead

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Jean "Prince" Gaspard
Jean "Prince" Gaspard

A player in middle position limped in and it folded to Jean "Prince" Gaspard in the small blind who raised to 35,000. The big blind folded and the limper called.

They went heads up to the {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop and Gaspard bet 60,000. His opponent called and the turn was the {k-Diamonds}.

Gaspard slid out a bet of 160,000 and once again his opponent called. The river was the {6-Spades} and Gaspard moved all in covering his opponent who snap-called for his last 190,000.

Gaspard turned over {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} for the nuts and his opponent tossed his {q-Hearts}{10-Spades} face up into the muck.

Gaspard scored the knockout and he is now at the top of the chip counts with 1,200,000.

There was already close to half a million in the pot and a player was all-in when there was three-handed action on the {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop.

Peggy "The Blonde Sniper" Costa moved all in for about 200,000 and the late position player snap-called.

"Wow is this hand real" said Jason Rivkin as all three players were holding monster hole cards.

The {8-Diamonds} river card sealed the deal for Costa to earn her the monster pot and the elimination. The remaining 81 players are now all in the money and guaranteed a minimum of $511 for their efforts.
