Betsafe qualifier Wojtek Hanus has been on fire since sitting down at a £1/£2 dealer's choice pot-limit Omaha table. He bought in for £100 or 50 big blinds and ran it up to over £600. Just a few minutes ago, Hanus took down a huge pot without a showdown after declaring himself all in on the turn on a board. As his opponent folded, he turned over the and shared he was drawing to a nut flush.
There is still plenty of action ahead during the 2017 Cash Game Festival London. If you were unable to make it out to Aspers Casino in east London, rest assured you do not have to wait long if you want to get into the action during the next festival in Slovenia.
For the first time, the Cash Game Festival hits Casino Perla in Slovenia from March 8 to 12 for another five days of nonstop cash game action. The festival will attract many players from around the globe, however, there will be many players from Italy in attendance due to the very close proximity to the country's border.
You can register in advance on the Cash Game Festival website to reserve your seat and to request to appear on the televised feature table.
Recently on the feature table there was a huge £2,000 pot. However, no player hit big as it wound up to be chopped pot after the following took place.
Alexis Savvides opened from early position with before Jean-Luc Weller three-bet with and Savvides four-bet. The duo got it all in for stacks of around £1,000 each after Weller shoved the rest of his stack in the middle on a five-bet and Savvides called.
The duo decided to run it two times. This worked out OK for Savvides despite being ahead preflop since he lost the first pot after his opponent nailed two-pair on the board.
Savvides was sweating again after the appeared on the flop on the second board to give his opponent a flush draw. However, Savvides' hand wound up holding for a chop after the second board completed with the on the turn and the on the river.
Cash Game Festival Co-Founder Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk and Cash Game Festival regulars Jack Fenton and Peter La Terra just kicked off the festival's first Sviten Special table with Betsafe's Michael Robinson. Stakes are small at £1/£2, but this doesn't mean pots can't get huge as it is one of poker's biggest action games.
Everyone but Robinson is well familiar with the game, but he seems to be a fast learner as he already split two pots.
Meanwhile, the late feature table has now ended. Tomorrow's early feature table will feature low-stakes £1/£2 no-limit hold'em. The stakes go up and go up big for the later televised table with action set at £10/£25 no-limit hold'em.
Day 2 of the 2017 Cash Game Festival London has built off the big success from its first day with nonstop ring game action running all day long across a variety of games including no-limit hold'em, pot-limit Omaha and Sviten Special.
The day began where last night left off for some players attending the festival with many recognizable faces still playing in the afternoon straight from the night before.
For others, the day began with a trip to the 114.5 meter tall ArcelorMittal Orbit structure in Queen Olympic Park to enjoy an aerial view of the British capital. However, the height and the view weren't the most thrilling parts of the trip. Players instead screamed their way down a slide from the top of the structure instead of taking the elevator.
Today's poker action was bigger than that of yesterday with £2/£5 and £5/£10 games running throughout the day. Tomorrow will be even bigger with the late televised table to feature £10/£25 no-limit hold'em.
The action did not die down after the feature table ended with 15 tables still in play at 1 a.m. Like yesterday, festival organizers expect some of the players to play through the night.
Players with the hospitality package are invited tomorrow for a VIP dinner at Jaime’s Italian at 5:40 p.m. GMT. After dinner, the Aspers Casino poker room is expected to be packed with local recreational players who will be off work for the weekend.
