Peter Traply Eliminated in 8th Place (€170,000)

Peter Traply - 8th Place
Peter Traply - 8th Place
Hand No. 26 -

It's Matthew Woodward's turn on the merry-go-round of open-raises. He's first in for 250,000. Chip leader Dag Mikkelsen jacks it up to 625,000 in front of button Peter Traply. He does something we haven't seen yet -- reraises all in for 4.25 million. Woodward gets the hint; he folds. Mikkelsen is a little more stubborn. Leaning on the rail with his arms folded across his chest, he chews on his lip and stares down at his stack. Calling the raise would require Mikkelsen to ship more than half of his stack, but he doesn't immediately surrender his hand. He thinks, and thinks, and thinks some more, then suddenly calls!

Mikkelsen: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}
Traply: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}

Traply looks like he wants to throw up, clearly not relishing taking a race for four million chips with blinds at 50k and 100k. He wants to vomit even more when the flop completely misses him, {8-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {2-Hearts}. He's off the final table and out the door after the turn brick {10-Diamonds} and river falls {6-Spades}.

Chip Counts

Tulchinskiy - 3,125,000
Qu - 2,750,000
De Korver - 1,115,000
Shah - 1,820,000
Zink - 2,570,000
Woodward - 4,895,000
Mikkelsen - 11,890,000

Hand #27 - Qu

Daniel Zink raises to 235,000 and gets himself called by Eric Qu.

Both players check the {7-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {2-Spades} flop, and Qu takes it down with a 200,000 bet on the {8-Clubs} turn.

Hand #30 - Eric Qu

Eric Qu open-raises to 250,000. Daniel Zink, whom the EPT Live commentators compared to a hamster earlier in the broadcast, reraises all in from the small blind for 2,195,000. That clears out the big blind. Qu hasn't shown much interest in calling reraises today, and that holds true for this hand. He folds.

Hand #32 - Mikhail Tulchinskiy

Eric Qu is under the gun and, curiously, minimum-raises to 200,000. Daniel Zink calls, setting us up for a squeeze from one of the later-to-act players. Mikhail Tulchinksiy also calls as wel for three-way flop of {A-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}. Everyone checks to the turn, which falls {8-Spades}. Tulchinskiy is first to act and bets just less than half the pot, 275,000. Qu calls rather quickly; Zink folds.

The river looks like a blank, the {2-Hearts}. Tulchinskiy doesn't like something about the hand; he checks to Qu, who fires a healthy bet of 700,000 into the pot. It looks like Tulchinskiy wants to call but may be talking himself out of it. He tanks for several minutes, absent-mindedly shuffling chips. Qu leans back in his chair and scratches the back of his neck vigorously -- a sign of swine flu? Someone calls for a clock, inducing a snap-call from Tulchinskiy with {10-Clubs} {3-Clubs}, a pair of tens. Qu must have a busted draw or a stone bluff, because he mucks.
