Roux Rebounding

Jan Skampa made it 140,000 to play, and Anthony Roux wanted to play for more. He announced a raise, then shoved his entire stack forward. It was exactly 1,000,000 to Skampa, and he didn't waste any time making the call with his massive stack.

Showdown
Skampa: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}
Roux: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}

Roux stood from his chair to await the results of this coin flip. The flop was pretty safe as it came {10-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}. The {6-Spades} on the turn removed the two straight outs for Skampa, leaving Roux to fade the six aces and queens to double up. The {9-Hearts} landed safely on the river, and Roux gave a little fist pump as he raked in a pot worth more than 2.3 million.

Mattsson Fails to Get Paid

Stefan Mattsson raised from the small blind and Jan Skampa called in the big. A flop ensued.

Flop: {4-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

Mattsson checked, and then called 240,000 from Skampa.

Turn: {9-Clubs}

Mattsson checked again, and this time called 550,000 from Skampa. Curious.

River: {10-Clubs}

Mattsson checked a third time, and this time Skampa checked behind. "You have a ten, right?" grinned Skampa. "ARGH!" said Mattsson, turning over {9-Spades} {10-Diamonds} for a full house as Skampa mucked.

Anthony Roux Eliminated in 4th Place (€171,000)

Anthony Roux - 4th Place
Anthony Roux - 4th Place
It folded to Eyal Avitan in the small blind, who raised to 180,000. Over to Anthony Roux in the big blind, who re-popped to 460,000. Avitan sighed, and announced all in to cover Roux. Call.

Avitan: {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}
Roux: {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts}

Flop: {K-Clubs} {A-Spades} {4-Clubs}

French railers shouted, "Ten!" "Queen-jack!" and all the other various combinations of turn and river cards that could win it for their boy.

Turn: {2-Spades}

River: {5-Clubs}

"YES! YES! YES!" shouted Avitan as Roux moved from drawing thin to busto.

We are down to our final three.

Avitan Sneaks the Lead

Eyal Avitan made it 235,000 from the button, but Jan Skampa in the big blind made it 580,000. After a short pause, Avitan called.

Skampa bet out 550,000 on the {5-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {A-Clubs} flop but Avitan made the call. They saw a {7-Clubs} turn and this time Skampa checked. Avitan bet a chunky 895,000, and Skampa gave it up.

Are We Having Stefan Yet?

Further misery for former chip monster turned short stack Stefan Mattsson.

He raised to 190,000 from the button and Jan Skampa called in the small blind. A flop.

Flop: {7-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {10-Hearts}

Both players checked, and they saw a turn.

Turn: {8-Clubs}

Skampa bet out 315,000, and Mattsson quickly called. Interesting.

River: {J-Hearts}

Skampa now bet 850,000, and after a moment Mattsson called - but promptly mucked to a chorus of "wows" from the rail as Skampa turned over {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs} for the daddy of all draws on the flop that had turned into the second-nut flush.

Mattsson is now down to 2.1 million.
