Lisa Taphanel Gets Deebed

Easy game
Easy game
Shaun Deeb checked his big blind after Lisa Taphanel limped under the gun. The flop came down {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {9-Hearts}. Deeb checked and Taphanel checked behind.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Deeb fired 1,600. Taphanel called before the river came the {8-Hearts}. Deeb bet 5,100 and Taphanel raised to 15,000. Deeb shoved and Taphanel called. She held {A-?} {J-?}, but Deeb hit the river in a hard way with his {A-Spades} {8-Spades} to make a full house.

He had Taphanel slightly covered and moved up to 125,000 chips. Lisa Taphanel was the last woman standing and with her elimination, it's all up to the men now.

Van Den Berg Update

Thierry Van Den Berg
Thierry Van Den Berg
Thierry Van Den Berg raised to 4,300 from under the gun plus one and then Ruslan Prydryk moved all in from the next seat for 17,400 total. Action folded back around to Van Den Berg and he asked the dealer to pull in the 4,300 chips from each player so he could see how much the raise was for.

"I only have three outs I think." said Van Den Berg as he mulled over the decision. "I put him on ace-king."

Eventually, Van Den Berg decided to make the call and tabled {K-Clubs} {9-Clubs}. Prydryk held {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts}.

The board ran out {J-Hearts} {5-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {6-Clubs}, giving Prydryk the double up to about 36,000. Van Den Berg slipped to 38,000.

"I never win flips. That's three in a row." he complained.

Brivot Takes One Off Zeeuw

Olaf De Zeeuw raised to 3,600 before Alexandre Brivot called in middle position. The flop came down {K-Spades} {8-Hearts} {6-Hearts} and Zeeuw fired a continuation bet of 6,400. Brivot called.

The turn was the {7-Spades} and Zeeuw slowed down with a check. Brivot fired 12,600. Zeeuw mucked his hand, dropping the pot and moving down to 72,000.

Sarwer Soaring

Under the gun, Antony Lellouche opened with a raise to 5,000. Around in the cutoff seat, Jeff Sarwer three-bet it up to 12,500, and small blind Jari Mähönen made one more raise to 25,800. Lellouche got the message and ducked out, sending the decision back to Sarwer.

"Oh boy!" he said with wide eyes. After double-checking the bet amount, he made the call to go heads up to the flop.

It came {10-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {5-Spades}. Mähönen put out a small continuation bet of 20,000, and Sarwer was having none of it. He stuck in a raise to 55,000, and Mähönen kicked his cards back to the dealer.

Canadian Jeff Sarwer is really having his way today at Table 8. He's up over 250,000 and breathing down the neck of chip leader Carter Phillips.

National Hockey League legend and Team PokerStars SportStar Mats Sundin will be playing the Main Event along with Team PokerStars PROs Johnny Lodden, William Thorson, and Eastgate.

Over 100 PokerStars players have already won seats online for the tournament which is set to be the largest ever held in the Baltic States.

Go HERE or HERE for more details.

Falling Fast

We see several more notables are now missing from their chairs. Those AWOL and presumed busted include two of the Team PokerStars Pros, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, and Marcin Horecki.

Scotty Nguyen appears to be another casualty of this level as he was seen pacing around the hotel lobby just a few minutes ago, baby.

Voitto Rintala is also nowhere to be found, and he's not a man who can easily go missing; he, too, has been eliminated.

The big board shows 76 players remaining, and we'll play on until the end of Level 12, or until we have 56 players left.
