Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Danilo Donnini opened to 525 (and has already worn out my 'N' key) and Ludvik Ludviksson made it 2,000 next to him before Martin Jacobsen moved all-in for 7,875 on the button. Donnini folded and Ludviksson did not like it but made the call with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and quadruple EPT finalist Jacobson turned over {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

The flop was {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts} because when you're Martin Jacobson and have made three EPT finals already this season, you don't have time give your opponents a chance to sweat in a coinflip. The {5-Diamonds} turn and {2-Clubs} river changed nothing, the Swede is back up to 18,000.

No Spoils For Viktor

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Viktor Blom - Now clearly a nit.
Viktor Blom - Now clearly a nit.

We've just witnessed a true rarity, a Viktor Blom check-fold.

Blom had fired out 750 on a flop of {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} against Andreas Eskeland but then gave up and mucked when the latter bet 1,400 on the {Q-Spades} turn. Seriously, there was no check-raising or over-bet bluffing or even triple range merging - in the words of the Queen - we are not amused.

Future Looks Bleik

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Ludovic Lacay opened to 500 on the button and Felix Bleiker casually called out of the big blind, the Swiss player then donk-leading for 525 on the flop of {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. To Lacay, donkleads can be like a red rag to a bull and he didn't waste too much time and quickly bumped it up to 1,600. Bleiker folded instantly.

Dominik Hands Georgy Abash-ing

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Dominik Nitsche has come into EPT San Remo on a high after winning a six figure sum during a recent event in Cyprus. Whether or not he can add the more prestigious title of EPT Champion to his resume remains to be seen but he is off to a decent start nonetheless.

Georgy Abashidze started the betting with a raise of 500 from early position and both NItsche and Gandrup Hansen both called. The flop had more spades on it than a Bob the Builder garage sale.

Flop: {4-Spades} {q-Spades} {k-Spades}

Abashidze made a c-bet of 1,200 and both opponents called.

Turn: {5-Hearts}

Abashidze now bet 3,300; Nitsche made the call but Gandrup decided enough was enough and folded his hand.

River: {7-Hearts}

Abashidze bet 7,500 and Nitsche moved all-in. We don't have the exact amounts but we know NItsche had Abashidze covered. Abashidze folded and NItsche won the pot.

"I folded a 7-high flush," Abashidze told a silent Nitsche.

Hop, Skrip and a Jump

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Almira Skripchenko
Almira Skripchenko

With the board reading {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Matias Adrover Parera fired out 2,150 but Almira Skripchenko made it 6,000 to go with a little under 11,000 remaining.

Parera made the call to see a {k-Hearts} river before checking, Skripchenko did not move for a minute but then pushed all in for about 10,800. It was Parea's turn to tank and eventually he gave credence to the Frenchwoman's shove and folded the {a-Clubs} face up.

Cody Finds Quick-Sand

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante
Jake Cody Now Has 29,000
Jake Cody Now Has 29,000

We had missed the pre flop action and were faced with a board of {8-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {8-Spades} and three people involved in the pot. Jake Cody, Felix Bleiker and David Sands. Cody checked, Bleiker bet 675 and Sands had raised to 1,425. Action back on Cody who check-raised to 3,825. Bleiker took a few minutes before folding and then the grey-hooded Sands quickly bumped it up a raise of 8,250. Cody rubbed his hands and cast a suspicious eye on Sands before eventually folding with a grin. Sands showed the lone {a-Diamonds}. This hand left Cody with 29,000 and blinds of 150/300.

Kelo-Puree

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante

Sami Kelopuro had opened to 525 preflop with about 8,000 behind, Marc Inizan and Alfio Battisti both called behind him from the hijack and the button respectively to see a flop of {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Kelopuro led for 1,250 and Inizan raised to 3,000, Battisti moved out of the way, Kelopuro moved in and Inizan called.

Kelopuro: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Inizan: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The turn {6-Clubs} gave Inizan additional outs and the {9-Clubs} river provided an unlikely backdoor straight with which the Frenchman knocked out his Finnish foe.
