Elder Flowers

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Rupert Elder is over the 200,000 mark after winning a decent pot with {a-Clubs}{q-}. He saw a three-way flop of {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}X where he was the only caller of a 9,000 bet. Both he and his opponent checked the {8-Clubs} turn to see the {q-Clubs} river, where Elder now faced a bet of 10,200, the Brit responded with a raise to 32,000 which was called. Elder tabled his {a-Clubs}{q-} and his opponent flashed the {k-Clubs} before mucking.

Savela Gets Lacay on the River

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

When we joined the action Ludovic Lacay was faced with a three-bet from Aleksi Savela. It was for 11,000 and Lacay made the call. The dealer gave us a flop of {j-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {j-Clubs} and Lacay check-called a 11,000 bet by Savela. There seemed to be a bit of irritable banter between the two of them as they checked down the turn {2-Spades} and the river {10-Spades}. The last aggressor was Savela and he turned over {k-Clubs} {10-Clubs} much to the obvious annoyance of Lacay.

Lacay now has 134,000 and Savela has 96,000.

Welcome Our Newest Press Room Friend, Carmen

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

Carmen

Do not adjust your sets! What you see before you is German press room fixture Tobias, who is today going by the name Carmen. He and TD Thomas Kremser had a little wager going on Day 1 about the number of runners for this tournament. The line was 988 and Tobias took the over. Total number of runners - 987. Thomas Kremser is good. And Tobias' forfeit was to dress as a lady for the whole of Day 2.

"I hate Thomas Kremser," Tobias told us, but in truth he looks as though he's actually enjoying himself. Perhaps enjoying himself rather too much.
