Konstant Headaches

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

"Aaarghhghgghhgggggggggh," shouted Konstantionos Xystouris as though he was dying.

The reason for his chagrin?

He was holding {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} but it was no good against Robert Cezarescu's {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} by the river of a {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} board as the Romanian made a Royal Flush on the river for good measure.

Mikhail The Mouth

Mikhail Korotkikh has just received a friendly warning from the tournament officials for being a little over-exuberant, but come on...poker is supposed to be exciting...don't suppress it!

Korotkikh was down to 13,000 when he moved all-in and was called by Dimitrios Mpallas.

Korotkikh{A-Hearts} {8-Hearts}
Mpallas{A-Clubs} {10-Clubs}

Korotkikh was down and almost out when the board ran out {7-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}, but the {8-Diamonds} on the river sent him into howls of shouting and laughter. After Korotkikh counted his stack he had 36,000.

Korotkikh kept on moving all-in until eventually he was called by Sjors Harmens.

Korotkikh{A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}
Harmens{10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

Board: {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {Q-Spades}

Korotkikh went ballistic and the tournament director pulled him up and gave him a lesson in etiquette.

Harmens was eliminated a few hands later.

Eighters Gonna Eight

Collado-Scoped
Collado-Scoped

Jason Wheeler opened to 2,400 before Roussos Koliakoydakis made it 6,000 a couple of seats down. Jan Collado squeeked out a tiny four-bet to just 9,800, Wheeler folded and Koliakoydakis asked for a count on Collado's stack.

"About 24,000," was the reply.

Koliakoydakis made the call to see a {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and checked, Collado moved all in and Koliakoydakis snap-called.

Collado: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
Koliakoydakis: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The {3-Spades} turn and {2-Clubs} river changed nothing and German, who was briefly chip leader yesterday, was out.
