Martins Adeniya is looking to continue his successful EPT Season. He defended from the big blind when Martin El-Kher raised to 1,000 from the hijack. The flop fell and Adeniya led for 1,200. Call. The turn came and Adeniya flicked in three 1k chips. That was enough to get his opponent off the hand.
On the next table along Allan Baekke, who's been on a sort of maternity leave from the EPT since this event last season, is going along very well. He was out-kicked in a hand by Stefan Hoing but the river came to save him. The board read and Baekke had bets called on the flop and the river, with the turn being checked. Baekke opened and chopped with Hoing who opened .

We were alerted to Table 23 by the dealer requesting time from the floorstaff. The tournament director arrived to find the board reading and Ilkin Amirov facing a bet of 15,500 from Thor Drexel.
The count started and just as the tournament director reached "two" he apprehensively made the call. Any fears of him not having the best hand were soon dismissed because Drexel instantly mucked.
Amirov turned over to win the pot and is now up to 95,000 whilst Drexel only has 2,625 of his start stack left.
Samuli Spiila made a raise from early position, making it 1,025 to play, and the aggressive Anthony Hnatow three-bet to 2,325 from middle position. Spiila counted out a four-bet and plonked 5,250 over the line.
"I am all-in," said Hnatow from underneath his hood.
"I call," said Spiila.
The look on Hnatow's face said it all - he was at it! Hnatow turned over and Spiila turned over . The dealer gave us the board and it was not good reading for Spiila. .
"Unlucky," said Roberto Romanello, "You won't move in with ace-king but you'll do it with ace-ten," said Romanello referring to an old exchange of theirs.

Roberto Romanello started the betting ball rolling with a raise to 1,025 from UTG+1 and he was called by both the blinds, Anthony Hnatow in the small blind and Dag Vidorbrigsvor in the big blind.
The flop came down and after both blinds checked Romanello set the price to play at 1,700 but Hnatow did not believe him and he check-raised to 3,850, which forced prompt folds from both his opponents.

Just imagine how you might already have the chip lead in an EPT and a very loose image at your table because you're using said chip lead as you should. Then there's a raise and a call in front of you and you're in the big blind with pocket kings. You put in an over-sized squeeze to 5,600 before the original raiser four-bet jams for around 30,000.
Steve O'Dwyer didn't need to imagine such a scenario as it happened to him. Giulio Mascolo was the player who jammed (with pocket jacks) and was obviously called by the American. The board ran out and it'd pretty safe to say he'll be the end of day chip leader.

Roberto Romanello opened up the action, from middle position, making it 1,100 to play. Jan Molby, who has been sat next to the Welshman all day long, suddenly perked up and makes the three-bet to 2,300. The action folded back around to our former EPT Champion and he made the call.
Flop:
Romanello checked, Molby bet 4,000 and Romanello made the call.
Turn:
Romanello bet 11,000 and Molby went deep into thought mode. He stared intently at the board for several minutes before throwing 23,000 into the pot. Romanello didn't need as much time to make his next decision which was to move all-in. The Welshman's stack covered the stack of Molby and a wrong call here was going to be fatal. Eventually Molby folded and the pot was handed to Romanello, but it was a dent to Molby's EPT Copenhagen hopes.

The tournament director has just announced that we have six more hands to go before Day 1a comes to an end.
