In just two weeks, the 2012 World Championship of Online Poker will begin, running September 2-23, with an overall guaranteed prize pool of $30,000,000. There will be 65 events running across 22 days of action, so this is not one that you want to miss.

On the first hand of the final table, action folded to Ilari Sahamies in the hijack seat and he raised to 65,000. Mike "Timex" McDonald was in the small blind and knew he had a lot more chips than both Erik Seidel in the big blind and Sahamies, so he moved all in having them well covered. Both Seidel and Sahamies folded, giving McDonald the first pot.
Action folded to Mike McDonald on the button and he raised to 60,000. Mike Watson called from the big blind and the flop came down . Watson checked and McDonald bet 66,000. Watson folded and McDonald took his second pot in a row.
Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies shoved all in under the gun for 604,000 and received a call from JC Alvarado. The rest of the field got out of the way and the cards were turned up.

It was a coinflip, but Sahamies was in need of some help. The flop didn't hit him directly, but it did make him a 52% favorite with a flush draw and two overs. The turn missed him and dropped his chances to 32%, but that was all he needed as the spiked on the river to fill his flush.
With that, Sahamies jumped into fourth-chip position.
Peter Jetten finished in tenth place last night after running into JC Alvarado's aces, but that hasn't discouraged him from seeing it through to the end one way or another.

Erik Seidel opened for 65,000 under the gun and cleared the field all the way around to Talal Shakerchi, who called on the button. Both blinds got out of the way, the flop fell , and Shakerchi called a bet of 75,000 from Seidel.
When the dealer burned and turned the , Seidel kept the pressure on with a 150,000 bet, which proved enough to win the pot as Shakerchi folded his hand.
From early position, Ilari Sahamies raised to 65,000. Action folded to Erik Seidel on the button and he reraised to 145,000. Everyone folded and Seidel won the pot.
From the cutoff seat, Mike Watson raised to 60,000. Ilari Sahamies reraised all in for 630,000 out of the big blind. Watson thought about it, then folded and Sahamies won the pot.
