Double Elimination On The Bubble

Eric Nhouyvanisvong (next to dealer) Eliminated on the Bubble
Eric Nhouyvanisvong (next to dealer) Eliminated on the Bubble

Two players have departed after about a 50-minute bubble.

First, Eric Nhouyvanisvong was all in for less than 10,000 from the small blind against Leandre Omeir in the big blind. Nhouyvanisvong was behind with {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} facing the {K-Hearts}{8-Spades} of Omeir. The board ran out {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, ending Nhouyvanisvong's tournament.

Next up was Ilan Boujenah, all in for about 110,000 after a {K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs} board with {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Sergio Castelluccio looked him up with {6-Hearts}{4-Spades} and held through the {7-Hearts} river.

It's not a complete loss for both, though, as they will split the 128th place prize of €7,500, receiving €3,750 each.

The Short Stacks Shove

The Post-bubble time at major tournaments is always fun as those that inched their way into the money suddenly feel the freedom to ship it in with reckless abandon.

We caught a perfect example of the kind of play we're seeing on tables across the room right now when Mark Jansen ({a-}{k-}), Yoann Amaudry ({j-}{j-}) and Slobodan Bjelobrk ({8-}{8-}) all got it all in.

An ace on the flop was enough to give Jansen the checkmark and while Amaudry was crippled and Bjelobrk busted, he's suddenly back in contention.

Ludovic Leading

Ludovic Lacay.
Ludovic Lacay.

Ludovic Lacay has increased his lead and is closing in on the one million chip mark after a massive hand played out moments ago.

Two players found themselves all in against the Frenchman, but their {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} were no match for his {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

No surprises on the {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, or the {7-Hearts} turn and {4-Hearts} river ensuring two more players hit the rail and Lacay's stack increased to 950,000.

Two of the Many Departed

As expected the players are being eliminated at an extremely fast pace since the bubble burst. Two of those to go recently included Mikael Johansson and the last lady standing in Lucille Cailly.

Cailly raised with king-queen on the button and called all-in when Sergey Baburin shoved with {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} from the big blind. The Russian found two hearts on the flop, and another on the turn to win the pot.

Moments later Mikael Johansson got his short stack in with {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} after the slightly larger stacked Aleksander Pereworucha raised and called with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The board ran out {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Johansson wished everyone luck before joining the growing payout queue.

Adeniya On Top

Stacked.
Stacked.

Martins Adeniya has taken his first big tangle with fellow big stack Ludovic Lacay and moved into the lead ever so slightly.

With almost 200k sitting in the middle on a {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} board, Adeniya slid out a 100k bet, forcing Lacay deep into the tank.

After a good three minutes he threw his hand away, handing the pot to Adeniya.

Pagano's Rockets

EPT Lifetime cashes leader Luca Pagano.
EPT Lifetime cashes leader Luca Pagano.

Once the bubble burst Luca Pagano was guaranteed his record 20th EPT Main Event cash.

What wasn't guaranteed was a deep run, but that appears to be a possibility now.

The Italian Team PokerStars Pro bumped it up to 13,500 pre-flop before Marius Torbergsen three-bet, making it 31k. Pagano took his time, before shipping it in for 154k total and Torbergsen called after a count.

Pagano: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Torbergsen: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and after the {4-Clubs} turn and {k-Diamonds} river, Pagano's stack was twice as big as it once was.

The Bigs Move

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Just as things were starting to get heated up between big stacks Ludovic Lacay and Martins Adeniya, their table has broken.

Lacay is now at a table with WSOP and WPT title holder James Dempsey and online phenom Chris Brammer while Adeniya is sat with Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano.

None of the stacks at either player's new table appear to be a very big threat to their own.
