Busquet Shows Another Bluff

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Olivier Busquet
Olivier Busquet

Jannick Wrang had three-bet to 185,000 from UTG+1 when Olivier Busquet cold four-bet to 425,000 from the small blind. This folded out the original raise but Wrang gave it a little more thought before eventually folding.

As he did Busquet turned his cards over to show the monster that is {Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, the second big bluff he has show so far. Now would be the perfect time for Busquet to pick up some legitimate hands because he is sure to be paid off with his crazy image.

Botond Keeps the Pressure On

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Fabrice Soulier
Fabrice Soulier

Fabrice Soulier raised to 85,000 and Balazs Botond three-bet to 225,000 from the small blind, Soulier made the call and the dealer put out a {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. Botond bet 240,000 and Soulier made the call to see the {5-Diamonds} turn, the Hungarian now bet 470,000 and Soulier folded. The latter has taken quite a few hits from these three-bet and four-bet pots but he's winning enough that he's still in second place.

Botond Back in Action

Balazs Botond raised to 105,000 on the button and Olivier Busquet called from the small blind to see a flop of {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. The American check-called a bet of 150,000 before the {7-Hearts} turn and {7-Clubs} river were checked down, Botond showed {J-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and it was good to pick up the first pot of this level.

Nagel Ramps Up The Aggression

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Since coming back from the break Mario Nagel has really become more aggressive and has started to three-bet with increased regularity.

In one hand he saw Fabrice Soulier open to 110,000 from UTG+1 who then called when Nagel three-bet to 240,000 from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Spades}{A-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and when Nagel continued with a bet of 330,000 Soulier snap-folded.

The very next hand Olivier Busquet opened to 110,000 but then quickly folded when Nagel three-bet to 240,000.

Nagel up to 2,500,000.

De Visscher Doubles Up

Olivier Busquet raised to 100,000 and Koen De Visscher moved all in for 955,000, it was folded back around to Busquet who snap-called.

De Visscher: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Busquet: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The flop of {K-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} looked bad for De Visscher but the {5-Clubs} on the turn put the Belgian ahead and Busquet couldn't find the re-suck on the {8-Spades} river.

Squeezy Does It

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Jannick Wrang
Jannick Wrang

Jannick Wrang may be one of the so-called new breed of poker players but he has just pulled off a typically old school move.

Fabrice Soulier opened to 150,000 from UTG+1 and the action folded to Koen De Visscher on the button and he made the call. The small blind got out of the way but Wrang, in the big blind, squeezed and made it 310,000 to play. Soulier almost instantly folded and De Visscher got out of the way rather quickly too.

Mario Nagel Eliminated in 6th Place (€92,000)

Mario Nagel
Mario Nagel

Mario Nagel raised to 100,000 preflop and Jannick Wrang three-bet behind him to 265,000. Nagel tanked and then moved all in for about 2.7 million! Wrang rechecked his cards and thought for about a minute and then made the call.

Nagel: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Wrang: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

It was the biggest pot of the tournament and Wrang was the favourite, his pocket queens holding on a {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} board. The Dane was catapulted into the lead, can Denmark make it three EPT's in a row?
