Two Sets for Peters

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

EPT regular Tobias Peters had been running well so far today. He made sets in two big hands, and got paid of.

In the first hand JP Kelly opened for 600 and the player on the button made the call. Peters found pocket jacks in the small blind and squeezed to 2,000. Both opponents called and a flop appeared: {A-}{9-}{4-} rainbow. Peters continued for 2,700 and just the button made the call.

The {J-} on the turn meant gin for Peters and he checked. His opponent checked behind and the dealer put a {Q-} to complete the board. Peters bet around the size of the pot and received a call. His opponent mucked seeing Peters' turned set.

In another hand Peters opened with pocket deuces. His next door neighbor, who Peters played with in Belgium before, made it 1,150 and the player on the button made the call. Peters came along as well and the three of them saw a flop: {2-}{A-}{10-} with two clubs. Peters check called 1,800, the button had folded by that time.

The {6-Hearts} on the turn made Peters check and his opponent bet 2,500 with a total stack of 11,000. Peters check raised to 5,350 and called the shove that followed. With his set of deuces Peters couldn't lose anymore, his opponent was drawing dead with {A-}{K-}.

Kansoun Not a Happy Man

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Something was clearly annoying Hussein Kansoun from Lebanon as we passed his table. We didn’t see what happened as the hand played out but a fair amount of his chips were headed the way of Niels Van Leeuwen. The board read {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Kansoun had mucked, but resting on the table were Van Leeuwen’s cards, {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. However the action had panned out the river had made Van Leeuwen a straight and he was stacking chips. Kansoun’s annoyance just seemed to increase as he splashed his remaining chips around in front of him. Not long until a break where he can cool down.

Nice Boat

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Pavel Zuev opened the betting from first position for 500, and faced a raise of 1,250 from Adam Ashadally as the blinds folded. The two players saw a flop of {4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and both checked. The turn card {2-Spades} prompted Zuev to bet 1,000, Ashadally to raise to 2,025 and a call from Zuev. The river was {2-Hearts} and Zuev checked. Ashadally went for the same amount as his turn raise and after some thought Zuev called the 2,025 to see his opponent’s cards. Ashadally flipped over the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} which elicited a little surprised gasp from Zuev, but no emotion from Ashadally as he gathered in his chips.

An Ace Flop

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

It folded to Benjamin Jones on the button, he raised it up to 500 and both Sunny Chattha (small blind) and Bodo Sbrzesny (big blind) made the call. The flop was a remarkable {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}, it checked to Jones who threw out a tiny bet of 200, Chattha smooth called and Sbrzesny smiled before folding.

The {K-Diamonds} fell on the turn, Jones bet 1,000 when checked to and Chattha called again. The {6-Hearts} completed the board, both players checked with Jones showing {K-Hearts}{9-Spades} which had turned the lead against Chattha's pocket fives.
