Altergott Busts

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

Max Altergott raised and small blind Olivier Busquet called. Philipp Gruissem three-bet from the big blind and the two other players called. They saw a flop of {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Busquet checked, Gruissem bet 4,000 and Altergott raised to 9,800. Busquet got out of the way but Gruissem made the call. The turn card was the {3-Spades} and now Gruissem checked. Altergott had a look at his opponent’s and bet 30,000, as good as putting him all in which is exactly what Gruissem did.

Altergott called the extra and turned over {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the flush draw and was against the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Gruissem. The river {9-Spades} doubled up Gruissem and crippled Altergott.

Very shortly after Altergott was all in and this time he had the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} getting a call from Busquet with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. The cards ran out {3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} the ace on the river sending Altergott to the rail.

Guess Who’s Back?

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Max Altergott used the 15 minute break to buy back in to this single reentry tournament and was allocated the same seat at the same table. He arrived as play resumed saying “Guess who’s back?” and then said “Ok, you,” pointing at Philipp Gruissem, “and you,” pointing at Olivier Busquet. Revenge is clearly on his mind.

Swidler Gets One

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Antoine Nahas opened for 625 and was called on the button by Carter Swidler and the big blind Philipp Gruissem. Three players saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{5-Clubs} and it was Swidler who continued for 700 and got one caller in Nahas.

They both checked the {j-Diamonds} turn card and when the river came the {a-Clubs} Nahas checked and called a bet of [800] from Swindler who turned over {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} which was good.

Aslan Daurov had defended a preflop raise from Jonathan Duhamel and they saw a flop of {10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Daurov checked and called a bet of 600 from Duhamel. The turn card was the {6-Diamonds} and once again Daurov check called Duhamels bet of 2,600.

The river card was the {7-Spades} and now Daurov led out for 3,500. Duhamel though responded with a raise to 15,000. Whatever Daurov’s cards were he didn’t have an answer to that and folded.

Jungleman Enters; Soika Wins a Pot

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

One of online poker's most prolific player, Daniel "Jungleman" Cates, just took his seat in the High Roller. Already he has hired one of the many masseuses for a massage, and while he was enjoying a hand unfolded at his table.

It began when Belarus' Ihar Soika opened for 750 under the gun and Jeff Rossiter and Yann Dion called from the cutoff and big blind respectively. When the flop came down {10-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, Dion checked, Ihar Soika bet 1,350, and Rossiter quickly folded. Dion did the same and Soika won the small pot.

It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their counts.
