Soulier Loves the Flop; Turn and River Not So Much

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

In one of the last hands of Level 11, Lukas Berglund opened for 4,000 an cleared the field to Fabrice Soulier, who three-bet from the small blind. When action was back on Berglund, he moved all in for 37,300 and Soulier hit the tank. He didn't seem to excited about the spot, but he made the call nonetheless.

Soulier: {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Berglund: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Soulier obviously regretted the call upon seeing his opponent's cards, but he seemed to perk up a bit when the {10-Spades}{j-Spades}{k-Spades} flop delivered him a Royal Flush draw! The {Q-Spades} would complete it, while any other lady would give him a chop. Likewise, any spade would secure him the knockout.

The {6-Hearts} turn was a blank, and much to Soulier's dismay, so was the {9-Clubs} river. The Frenchman missed, which allowed his Swedish opponent to double through.

Ladouceur Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

PokerStars Team Online’s Marc-Andre Ladouceur opened and was raised by Robin Ylitalo. Ladouceur responded with an all-in and Ylitalo didn’t waste much in calling it off. The cards were exposed with Ladouceur tabling {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} against the baby pair {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} of Ylitalo.

The cards fell {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. The flop shoot Ladouceur into the lead but one of the remaining fives popped up on the river to crush him.

Trickett Gets the Value

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Sam Trickett
Sam Trickett

Samir Moukawem opened in the cut-off for 4,500 and got a call from Sam Trickett on the button. The blinds folded and the two players saw a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Moukawem continued for 4,000 and Trickett made the call.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and again Moukawem bet 4,000. Trickett responded with a raise to 10,000 and Moukawem threw in the call. The river was the {3-Hearts} and Moukawem decided to check. A bet from Trickett of 5,000 got the call and Moukawem optimistically asked, “Same?” Turnong over the missed flush and straight draw {k-Spades}{j-Spades}.

It wasn’t the same as Trickett showed the {10-Clubs} for top pair and the pot was pushed his way.

Jorgensen Gets Lucky and a Warning

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Theo Jorgensen
Theo Jorgensen

Toby Lewis moved all in from late position for his last 44,100 and Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen splashed in some chips to signify a call from the small blind. The problem was he forgot to wait for Benny Spindler on the button.

The floor was called over and ruled that if Spindler raised, then Jorgensen would be allowed to take back his move. If Spindler either called or folded, Jorgensen's move would stand. Spindler folded, Jorgensen called, and the big blind folded.

Jorgensen: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Lewis: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Both players held an ace, which meant Lewis was well out in front with his king kicker. The {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop kept him in the lead, but then disaster struck when the dealer burned and turned the {Q-Hearts}. Suddenly Lewis needed a king to survive, but that didn't happen as the {7-Spades} peeled off on the river instead.

After the hand, Jorgensen received a warning from the floor — act out of turn again, and you'll receive a one-round penalty.

Jedlicka Starts Hot but Ends with a Fizzle

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Alex Bilokur
Alex Bilokur

The first level of the day was great for Niki Jedlicka, who registered at the start of Day 2. He quickly worked his starting stack of 50,000 up to 150,000, but it all came crashing down here in Level 12.

It happened when Jedlicka opened holding the {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Alex Bilokur defended from the big blind. The {9-}{9-}{8-} flop saw Bilokur check, Jedlicka bet, and Bilokur check-raise. Jedlicka called and then moved all in when Bilokur checked the {K-} turn. Bilokur made the call with {k-}{10-}, and the kings and nines took it down when the river blanked.

Just like that Jedlicka is out of the EPT10 Vienna High Roller.

Jouhkimainen vs. Moschitta

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

We didn't see the hands unfold, but we do know that Joni Jouhkimainen and Luca Moschitta just battled in two big hands that saw one of them fall.

In the first, Jouhkimainen got lucky to double by cracking Moschitta's {q-}{q-} with {5-}{6-} suited. Ironically, Moschitta got his stack all in preflop holding {a-}{7-} and ran into Jouhkimainen's {q-}{q-}. Unfortunately for the Italian, he couldn't return the favor as the board ran out clean and the queens held.

Moschitta was eliminated from the tournament while Jouhkimainen chipped up to 180,000.

Back-to-Back Big Hands for Duhamel

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel just won two back-to-back hands that saw him go from a short stack to sitting in decent position.

In the first hand, Duhamel three-bet shoved for 46,000 from the button over the top of a Jeff Rossiter raise. Rossiter made the call with the {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, but it was behind the {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} of Duhamel. The board ran out a clean {k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and Duhamel was shipped the double.

In the very next, Duhamel opened and then called when Martin Jacobson three-bet shoved the button. Jacboson held the {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, but it was no good as Duhamel tabled the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. The {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop changed nothing, but the {J-Diamonds} turn opened up some chop options for Jacobson. Nothing materialized though as the {Q-Clubs} completed the board on the river.
