Kulev Loses Some; Pulls Them Back

Level 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ben Heath also won the second hand of heads-up play and Alex Kulev then limped the button once more, Heath checked. On the {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, Heath check-called for 40,000 and the {6-Spades} turn went check, check. After the {j-Diamonds} river, Heath checked once more and Kulev bet 85,000.

Heath required one time bank and then folded.

Kulev Doubles With the Ducks

Level 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ben Heath pushed all-in from the button and Alex Kulev called for the 525,000 he had behind.

Alex Kulev: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Ben Heath: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The mighty ducks remained in the lead on the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop and {k-Diamonds} turn. Nothing changed with the {k-Hearts} river either and both stacks were essentially even.

Kulev Builds a Small Lead

Level 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

After his double up, Alex Kulev also won the next pot and then kept applying his limping strategy on the button. Ben Heath checked in the big blind and they headed to the {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. Heath check-called a bet worth 40,000 and checked again the {k-Hearts} turn. Kulev bet 120,000 and that shut down Heath right there.

Heath Jams Back Into Narrow Lead

Level 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ben Heath limped and then folded when Alex Kulev raised to 160,000.

Kulev limped next and Heath checked to the {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Kulev checked behind. On the {j-Diamonds} turn, Heath checked and subsequently check-raised from 120,000 to 285,000 as Kulev tank-called.

The shove by Heath followed on the {a-Hearts} river and his opponent instantly sighed a "count please". With a shove for 465,000, Kulev was very tempted but ultimately folded. "I really wanna see that one," he said but Heath simply stacked the chips.

Heath Doubles Into Commanding Lead

Level 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Four limped pots in a row brought the level to an end but the very last hand then took an eternity and shifted the momentum of the heads-up duel.

Ben Heath limped the button and Alex Kulev raised to 160,000 for Heath to call. On the {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop, Kulev bet just 70,000 for Heath to call and he then checked the {8-Clubs} on the turn. Heath bet 160,000 and Kulev came along, which led them to the {5-Diamonds} on the river.

Heath now moved all-in for 565,000 and Kulev instantly sighed before saying "yeah, I don't think I should fold this one." He asked for an exact count and ultimately made the call for most of his stack.

Heath revealed the {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for kings and sixes, and that was good for the big double as Kulev only had the {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a bluff catcher.

Kulev Scores a Double

Level 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Alex Kulev jammed on the button for 250,000 and won the big blind and big blind ante, as Ben Heath shrugged before sigh.-folding.

Heath then raised to 300,000 on the button and Kulev called all-in.

Alex Kulev: {k-Spades}{2-Spades}
Ben Heath: {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}

The superior hand prevailed on the {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs} runout and Kulev stuck around once more, as the Bulgarian rail chanted "future, future," referring to his online moniker.

Level 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Alex Kulev lost a few precious chips and then limped the button, Ben Heath opted to once more check back out of the big blind. On the {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Heath check-called a min-bet of 50,000 and the {4-Clubs} turn was checked. Heath also checked the {5-Diamonds} river and Kulev then counted his stack before pushing all-in for 350,000.

Heath took around ten seconds and sigh-folded.

Alex Kulev Eliminated in 2nd Place (€142,620)

Level 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Alex Kulev
Alex Kulev

Ben Heath limped the button and called a raise by Alex Kulev, which led them to the {q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. Kulev jammed and Heath quickly called.

Alex Kulev: {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Ben Heath: {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

The huge double draw of Heath had a ton of equity and the {a-Clubs} turn sealed his victory, which made the {9-Spades} river a formality. Kulev had to settle for the runner-up spot and €142,620 but will certainly be back the following day for the next edition of this single-day High Roller Event.

Heath claims the PokerStars Spadie trophy and a top prize of €227,130. A full recap of today's action is to follow.
