Trevidy Four-Bets, Again

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Weiran Pu opened to 50,000 from under the gun before Terje Bremseth made it 125,000 to go from the next seat over. Ewen Trevidy was in the cutoff and made the four-bet squeeze to 600,000, all of his chips.

The action folded back to three-better Bremseth, who commented ''Third time, huh? Third f--king time'', before he forfeited his hand.

Aksoy Continues to Climb with the Elimination of Peyratoux

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Tinay Aksoy came into the day as one of the short stacks with less than 100,000 chips. However, he's gone on a heater thus far and has slowly run up a stack. Aksoy raised to 40,000 in middle position and Jean-Philippe Peyratoux jammed all in for 435,000 on his left. The action folded back to Aksoy who asked for a count before calling.

Jean-Philippe Peyratoux: A7
Tinay Aksoy: 1010

The flop came Q105 and Aksoy flopped a set of tens, leaving Peyratoux drawing slim. The 9 and A runout was not enough and Peyratoux became another victim.

Okamoto Knows When She's Beat

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Shiina Okamoto
Shiina Okamoto

The chip leader at the start of today, Shinna Okamoto, was sitting in the hijack and three-bet a 50,000 open from early position Igor Pihela Jr. to 125,000. The action folded back to the initial raiser and he did not spend much time before he four-bet all in for roughly 550,000.

Okamoto spent even less time thinking about her decision, as her cards hit the muck before Pihela Jr. could finish his sentence.

Czuczor Dominates Jiang

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Marton Czuczor raised to 50,000 in the cutoff and Honglin Jiang shipped all in for around 300,000 in the big blind. Czuczor quickly called to put Jiang at risk and the cards were tabled.

Honglin Jiang: A10
Marton Czuczor: AJ

The flop came J74 and Czuczor moved even further ahead with a pair of jacks. The K on the turn gave Jiang a straight draw but the 10 on the river was not going to cut it.

Mehal Makes the Wrong Call

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Azzedine Mehal opened to 50,000 from under the gun and Samiyel Duzgun shoved his 415,000 stack in the middle from the button. It folded back to Mehal, who played just 10,000 less than his opponent.

He would spend the next several minutes in the tank with an agonized look on his face. After counting his stack and repeeking his cards, time was called by someone at the table. The countdown went down to the last three seconds and that is when Mehal made a hasty call.

Azzedine Mehal: 99
Samiyel Duzgun: 1010

Mehal slammed his fist on the table and let out an expletive at the sight of the situation. He could not hit his two direct outs, nor made any other improvement to his hand on a board of 272QA. The stacks were counted and he was confirmed to be eliminated from the tournament.

Antonio Calabro opened to 50,000 from under the gun and Valon Olluri pushed in the last of his 250,000 chips in the hijack. The action folded back to Calabro who got a count before making the call.

Valon Olluri: 44
Antonio Calabro: QJ

The flop came J32 and Calabro picked up a pair of jacks to take the lead. The A on the turn gave Olluri some extra outs but the 10 on the river was not one of them.

Boi Blasts Flop, Instantly Regrets It

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Sim Kok Wai and Paolo Boi were battling over a 150,000 pot. The flop was spread 433 and Wai had checked to Boi, who bet 50,000. Wai then raised it to 150,000, which elicited a tank from Boi.

When he emerged, he announced an all-in, covering Wai's 510,000 stack by a good margin. Wai snap called his opponent's three-bet, much to the dismay of Boi.

Sim Kok Wai: J3
Paolo Boi: A10

Wai flopped trips and Boi had nothing but a couple of backdoors. The turn 10 brought a tiny sweat for Wai, but the river K remained clean and he took a huge double-up, sitting on over one million chips now.

Demosthenes Kiriopoulos
Demosthenes Kiriopoulos

Demosthenes Kiriopoulos opened to 65,000 in early position and Andrea Ruosi shipped all in for around 300,000 on his left. The action folded back to Kiriopoulos who quickly made the call.

Andrea Ruosi: 72
Demosthenes Kiriopoulos: AQ

"You raise every hand so I thought I could get you to fold," explained Ruosi as he got funny looks from the table.

The board ran out AK8KJ and Kiriopoulos was able to hold without much of a sweat. "I just gave you a walk a few hands ago," laughed Kiriopoulos.
