Jacks Good For Bartlog!

A short-stacked Mark Bartlog pushed for 6,000 pre-flop with {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and was called by a player holding {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

The {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop was not what he wanted to see and the {Q-Spades} on the turn did not help him. The {J-Clubs} on the river was just what he needed to double up to 13,000.

Sander Lylloff
Sander Lylloff
The players are now on a 10-minute break at the end of Level 8.

Sander Lylloff has gone from chip leader to being out in the first two levels of today. He just lost two pots in succession to Raul Mestre and Peter Gould respectively, to leave him with 275 in chips which he got in good with {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} versus {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. But the board came down {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs} to knock out the Barcelona EPT winner.

Check-Raise Works for Thew!

Julian Thew
Julian Thew
The flop had been dealt, coming {Q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}, and there was already 16,000 in the pot from the pre-flop action.

Julian Thew checked and his opponent bet 4,000.

Julian then raised to 20,000 which elicited a fold after a short dwell.

Julian has 66,000 after this hand.

Check-Raise Fails for Colclough!

Dave Colclough
Dave Colclough
Arriving at the table after a flop of {6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, we see 6,000 in the middle from pre-flop action. Dave Colclough checks and his opponent fires out a 3,500 bet. Dave raises this to 8,000 total.

After a minute or so of chip twiddling, his opponent makes the call.

Turn is the {9-Hearts} and Dave checks. His opponent immediately moves all in, covering Colclough. After some thought he gives it up and is left with 10,300 in chips.
