John Bowman Eliminated in 16th Place ($3,113)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 500 ante
John Bowman
John Bowman

John Bowman was eliminated in 16th place after Jeff Gregg four bet to 116,500.

The action started when Bill Khourie opened to 16,500. Bowman made it 56,500 and then Gregg made it 116,500. The action folded back to Khourie who folded. Bowman asked how much the raise was and decided to call. He was leaving himself with only 41,000 behind.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Bowman put the rest of his chips in. Gregg called. Bowman had {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Gregg had {q-}{q-}. The board finished with running aces and Khourie made a motion as though he would have won the whole pot had he played the hand. He then said he folded an ace.

Gregg did win the pot and eliminated John Bowman.

Paul Kardules made an epic run towards the end of Day 1a, coming from under 10 big blinds to an above average stack. He just hit the end of the line when he got all in preflop against Sai Mudduluru.

Mudduluru had {a-}{a-} and Kardules needed a lot of help with {a-}{8-}. An eight hit the flop, but that was all Kardules was going to get. He walks away with $3,984 for his 14th place finish.
