Brian Hastings Eliminated in 11th Place ($24,031)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Brian Hastings - 11th place
Brian Hastings - 11th place

It was folded to Brian Hastings in the small blind who completed and Michael Wang made it 165,000 to go from the big blind. Hastings moved all in for 995,000 total and Wang quickly called. The hands were revealed:

Hastings: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Wang: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came with an ace but it also came with a ten to give Wang a set. A queen would give Hastings a straight but the turn was the {3-Clubs} and the river was the {9-Diamonds} and Hastings was eliminated in 11th place for $24,031. They are now combining down to one table of ten players. We'll have the seating assignment posted shortly.

Jorn Walthaus Eliminated in 12th Place ($24,031)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Jorn Walthaus
Jorn Walthaus

Jorn Walthaus moved all in from early position for 415,000 and one seat over, Elliott Zaydman asked for a count. Once he got the confirmation from the dealer, Zaydman moved all in as well and all other opponents mucked their cards rather quickly.

Walthaus: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Zaydman: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The {K-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop was still good for the Dutchman, but the {Q-Spades} turn gave Zaydman the better hand. Walthaus had two sixes left in the deck to avoid the elimination. The {5-Spades} river was close but failed to improve his hand and he headed to the payout desk. "That was my second best hand today," a relieved Zaydman said.

Dmitry Kataev Eliminated in 13th Place ($17,945)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Dmitry Kataev - 13th place
Dmitry Kataev - 13th place

Dmitry Kataev returned from the break with the shortest stack and would move all in from the button on Simon Deadman's big blind. Deadman looked at the first card and said "that one's good" and then looked at the second and said "I call" and tabled {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. "The first one was the eight," he joked. Kataev turned over {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and would need to improve if he was going to continue playing.

The flop came {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades} moving Deadman further ahead and the {3-Hearts} meant Kataev was drawing dead. The river would pair him up with the {5-Spades} but it was too little too late and Kataev was eliminated in 13th place for $17,945.

Kuo Knocks Out a Duo

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Michael Wynn - 14th place
Michael Wynn - 14th place

It was folded to Kitty Kuo on the button who raised it to 55,000. Garrett Beckman moved all in from the small blind and after a few moments of thought Michael Wynn followed suit and moved all in as well.

"What is going on here guys," said Kuo, who then asked for a count of Wynn's stack. Once she found out the amount, she said "I call" and the hands were turned over:

Kuo: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Beckman: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Wynn: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The flop came {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} keeping Kuo in the lead but giving Beckman a straight draw. The turn was the {4-Hearts} which changed nothing. Beckman would need a three, seven, or eight and Wynn would need an ace if either was to survive. The river was the {Q-Spades} giving Kuo an unneeded full house.

"Yes," said Kuo. "Oh my God! Oh my God! I'm so nervous." She shook the hands of Beckman, who finished in 15th place for $17,945 and Wynn, who finished in 14th place for $17,945 as well.

Jack Schanbacher Eliminated in 16th Place ($13,732)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Jack Schanbacher - 16th place
Jack Schanbacher - 16th place

Jack Schanbacher moved all in for slightly more than 200,000 in chips and one seat to his left Robbie Bakker moved all in. Everyone folded and Schanbacher's {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} was in bad shape against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} that Bakker held.

The flop came {K-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} to give Bakker a set of kings and the {5-Clubs} on the turn changed that to a full house and Schanbacher was drawing dead. The river was an inconsequential {A-Spades} and Schanbacher was eliminated in 16th place for $13,732.

Steve Nguyen Eliminated in 17th Place ($13,732)

Steve Nguyen - 17th place
Steve Nguyen - 17th place

From early position, Steve Nguyen moved all in for 280,000 and the action folded all the way to Martin Godsk in the big blind. He peeked at his cards and then immediately called.

Nguyen: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Godsk: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

After the {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{J-Clubs} flop, Nguyen was wishing his opponent to hit a queen as that would have given him a straight. The {9-Hearts} turn improved the hand of Godsk to a straight and the {2-Spades} river saw Nguyen hit the rail in 17th place for $13,732.

Richard Miller Eliminated in 18th Place ($13,732)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Richard Miller
Richard Miller

Martin Godsk started it off with a raise to 50,000 and would find three takers in Brian Hastings, Richard Miller, and Simon Deadman. The flop came {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Deadman who had called from the big blind checked. Hastings followed suit but Miller would not as he would push his last 300,000 or so in chips into the middle. After getting a good look at how much it was, Deadman announced a call and Godsk and Hastings quickly folded.

"Good call," said Miller as he turned over {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for two overcards. Deadman had {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a pair of nines. The turn was the {8-Spades} and Miller would need an ace or jack on the river to stay alive. The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Deadman added to his chip lead and eliminated Miller in 18th place in the process. Miller won his seat via the Hollywood Casino in Joliet, Illinois and turned that into a $13,732 payday.

Mal Hagan - 19th place
Mal Hagan - 19th place

A short-stacked Mal Hagan got the last of his chips in with {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was up against Martin Godsk and his {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. The board would run out {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Godsk would manage to avoid the diamond flush draw that Hagan picked up to eliminate him in 19th place.

Matt Sundberg Eliminated in 20th Place ($10,299)

Matt Sundberg - 20th place
Matt Sundberg - 20th place

Matt Sundberg raised to 40,000 preflop and Simon Deadman three-bet to 84,000. On the {A-Clubs}{4-Spades}{K-Diamonds} flop, the Brit check-called 130,000 and put his best Hollywood performance in to get his opponent all in after checking the {6-Clubs} turn.

Sundberg walked into the trap with {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and was crushed by the "aces magnet" Deadman, as the Brit turned over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. The meaningless {8-Hearts} river completed the board and Deadman is our by far chip leader at the moment.

Andy Spears Eliminated in 21st Place ($10,299)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Andy Spears - 21st place
Andy Spears - 21st place

We didn't catch the preflop and flop action, but on the {K-Spades}{A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} turn, Andy Spears bet 140,000 and Damian Salas moved all in. Spears had less than 350,000 chips behind and eventually made the call with {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Once he saw the {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} of his opponent, he let go a deep sigh and the words "what is that for a turn."

Only an ace on the river could save him but the {Q-Hearts} wasn't any help to see him depart in 21st place.
