Robbie Bakker Doubles Up

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Robbie Bakker and Mike Sowers got the chips in pre-flop and Bakker was at risk holding {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} which was well ahead of Sowers and his {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The board ran out {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Bakker doubled up to 1.55 million in chips with Sowers taking a hit down to an even 1.0 million in chips.

Mike Sowers raised to 65,000 and Kitty Kuo called from the button, both players in the blinds folded. On the {K-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, Sowers continued for 105,000 and Kuo called before betting 160,000 on the {5-Spades} turn. Sowers check-folded and Kuo raked in the pot.

The never-ending Battle between Deadman and Salas

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Simon Deadman raised to 60,000 from the button. One seat over, Damian Salas three-bet to 160,000 and Deadman asked his opponent whether or not he would show a six. The Brit then announced all in and Salas was thrown back.

He took at least two minutes to consider his next step, seemingly looking for a reason to take a flip. Ultimately, Salas ended up folding his hand and while Deadman stacked the chips and the dealer grabbed his two hole cards.

Deadman told the dealer "show him one" and the dealer obliged, turning over the {10-Hearts}.

Dmitry Kataev Eliminated in 13th Place ($17,945)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Dmitry Kataev - 13th place
Dmitry Kataev - 13th place

Dmitry Kataev returned from the break with the shortest stack and would move all in from the button on Simon Deadman's big blind. Deadman looked at the first card and said "that one's good" and then looked at the second and said "I call" and tabled {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. "The first one was the eight," he joked. Kataev turned over {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and would need to improve if he was going to continue playing.

The flop came {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades} moving Deadman further ahead and the {3-Hearts} meant Kataev was drawing dead. The river would pair him up with the {5-Spades} but it was too little too late and Kataev was eliminated in 13th place for $17,945.

Jorn Walthaus Eliminated in 12th Place ($24,031)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Jorn Walthaus moved all in from early position for 415,000 and one seat over, Elliott Zaydman asked for a count. Once he got the confirmation from the dealer, Zaydman moved all in as well and all other opponents mucked their cards rather quickly.

Walthaus: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Zaydman: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The {K-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop was still good for the Dutchman, but the {Q-Spades} turn gave Zaydman the better hand. Walthaus had two sixes left in the deck to avoid the elimination. The {5-Spades} river was close but failed to improve his hand and he headed to the payout desk. "That was my second best hand today," a relieved Zaydman said.

Brian Hastings Eliminated in 11th Place ($24,031)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Brian Hastings - 11th place
Brian Hastings - 11th place

It was folded to Brian Hastings in the small blind who completed and Michael Wang made it 165,000 to go from the big blind. Hastings moved all in for 995,000 total and Wang quickly called. The hands were revealed:

Hastings: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Wang: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came with an ace but it also came with a ten to give Wang a set. A queen would give Hastings a straight but the turn was the {3-Clubs} and the river was the {9-Diamonds} and Hastings was eliminated in 11th place for $24,031. They are now combining down to one table of ten players. We'll have the seating assignment posted shortly.

DeMaci Nitrolls Bakker

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Christopher DeMaci raised to 80,000 from early position and got two callers including Robbie Bakker in the big blind. On the {2-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, Bakker check-called 125,000 by DeMaci and the other opponent folded.

Both players checked the {4-Clubs} turn and the {J-Spades} river saw Bakker bet 180,000. DeMaci had about 430,000 left and ended up calling after more than one minute of consideration. Bakker announced eights and DeMaci turned over the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}. "Oh wow, I nitrolled you there. I told you I am a nit," DeMaci said.
