Parsons Calls River Correctly

Level 4 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Tom Parsons
Tom Parsons

Tom Parsons is playing in the Irish Open Main Event and was on the turn in a pot against Joseph Saunders. The board read {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Spades} and there was 5,500 in the middle when Parsons bet 1,200 from the button, after a check from small blind Saunders. Saunders called the bet and the pair saw the {9-Clubs} river.

Saunders then decided to take the betting lead as he led out for 5,000. Parsons shrugged and called quickly, and did so correctly as his {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} beat the {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} of Saunders.

Parsons recently made a deep run in the PSPC 2023 and is looking to make another one here in Dublin

Ankit Ahuja

Michael Howard raised from early position and Ankit Ahuja reraised to 4,800. Howard made the call and two players went to the flop.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {8-Spades}. Howard bet out for 2,200 chips and Ahuja reraised to 4,800 and Howard called.

The river came the {q-Hearts}. Howard checked and Ahuja bet 20,000, which was all of Howard's chips. Howard looked pained as he thought about it before making the call. He showed {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a pair of tens and Ahuja showed {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} for a pair of queens.

Howard got up and left the table.

On a completed board of {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} there were roughly 35,000 chips in the pot and Cosmin Chis had put enough chips forward to put his opponent Fintan Hand all-in.

Hand thought about it for a bit, but eventually shrugged and put in his stack worth 20,600. His opponent declared that he played ace-high and showed the {a-Clubs}. Hand tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and he was awarded the big pot.

A good start for the PokerStars Ambassador, while Chis still had more than starting stack to play with.

Drake Bluffs River and Channell Offers £400 Not To Write This Up

Level 5 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Ian Drake
Ian Drake

Ian Drake raised from middle position and picked up calls from Remo Marto on the button and Thomas Channell in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Clubs}. Action checked to Thomas Channell, who made the bet. He was called by Ian Drake and two players went to the turn, which came the {q-Clubs}. Channell checked and Drake bet 3,200, which Channell called.

The river was the {2-Clubs}. Channell checked once more and Drake pushed all in for his remaining 20,000 chips, staring across the table at his opponent.

"What have you got, {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}?", asked Channell before making the fold. He wasn't far off. Drake showed {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for the bluff.

"I'll give you £400 not to put that in the blog," said Channell.
