Second Break

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

The second 15-minute break has just started and the players are heading out of the tournament room. There may not be as much sun left anymore past 6 p.m. local time, but the birds are chirping outside and the temperature is around 25 degrees.

Sgorrano Back on Track

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Just now, Jerome Sgorrano raised to 1,000 and then flashed the {Q-Hearts} first before also revealing the {A-Diamonds} to claim the pot. That was exactly the hand his opponent held in the last hand before the break when Sgorrano raised from under the gun with {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

Dominique Terzian also defended his blind blind and they saw a three-way flop of {A-}{5-}{3-}. Both opponents called a bet worth 1,500 by Sgorrano before the Belgian then fired 3,500 on the {7-} turn. The third player in the hand raised to 8,000 with 12,000 behind and Terzian folded whereas Sgorrano then shoved with his two pair.

The opponent called off with ace-queen and the river blanked.

"How Can you call?"

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Liece El Berrak was upset after his bluff attempt had just gone wrong. On the {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} turn, El Berrak had raised to 6,800 and Henrique de Oliveira called with only 14,000 chips behind. The {10-Diamonds} river saw El Berrak moving in and de Oliveira eventually called with the {A-Spades}{3-Spades} to see his opponent flip over {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a missed straight draw.

"How can you call there?" a stunned El Berrak let out. The same table also features 2011 WPT Marrakech champion Mohamed Ali Houssam, who increased his stack nicely.

Santais Short

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

On the {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop, the opponent of Gilles Huet bet 5,700 and Huet then moved all in for 31,600 to enforce a fold.

A few tables over, former big stack Herve Santais is missing a lot of chips and they must have moved two spots to the left. Riccardo Giacalone appears to be the new chip leader with what looks like 130,000.

Still Time to Reenter

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Slowly but surely the field size is approaching 200 entries with players busting out and purchasing another bullet. The most recent seat open included Abdenbi Abida, Mohamed Mamouni, Thierry Gogniat as well as Rebecca Gerin and it remains to be seen whether or not they will join the action again until the end of level nine.

Pont Takes from Sgorrano

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Jerome Sgorrano tried to take down a three-way pot on the {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} river with a bet of 3,600 into about twice as much in the middle of the table. Two seats over, Pont eventually called after plenty of consideration and then revealed {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} as winning hand to let the Belgian drop a few chips.

Three Going Up

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Isabel Baltazar, Paul-Francois Tedeschi and Cheng-Wei Yin have all been able to increase their stack. Especially the Belgian received the image as constant aggressor at his table and raising before then calling a three-bet with {5-}{2-} surely does qualify for that.

Yin then found a flop of {5-}{3-}{2-} for two pair, but two diamonds also put a flush draw on the board. Yin bet 3,000 and called a raise to 15,000 before the {6-} on the turn saw his opponent get it in with {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for the draw. Yin's two pair held up and that was the biggest pot as of late for the Belgian.
