Day 3 Approaches

Welcome back to the Radisson Resort and Casino for Day 3 of the UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic.

We're just about 10 minutes away from our scheduled starting time, and the players have just begun to take their seats. By noontime, the remaining 86 of them will unbag their chips and get set for the run to the money. We'll need to drop 41 players before we hit the bubble, and we'll play down to 36 before calling it a day.

Robert Mizrachi comes into play with a commanding chip lead, but it won't be an easy field to overcome. At least not if defending champion Matt Brady has anything to say about it. Also still going strong is 2007 champion Travis Rice, along with a host of notable names and a few Team UB Pros as well.

We'll be back in just a few minutes with the shuffle up and deal.

Man Down!

We just witnessed our first elimination of the day. Joe Le opened the action with a raise to 4,000 before Anton Talle moved all in for 29,500 total. Elliot Flint-Petersen then moved all in over the top before everyone, including Le, ducked out of the way.

Talle held {7-Hearts} {7-Clubs} and Flint-Petersen held {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}. The board ran out {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {J-Spades} {3-Spades} {6-Diamonds} and that was it for Talle's tournament.

Roberts Takes Care of Nocerino

Brent Roberts
Brent Roberts
Alessandro Nocerino opened the pot with a raise to 10,000 from the late position, and Brent Roberts three-bet it to 30,000 from the big. Nocerino called the extra amount to leave himself with just about 15,000 behind.

As the dealer burned, Roberts announced he was putting Nocerino all in, and the first three community cards came {8-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {K-Clubs}. Nocerino tried to check, not realizing that wasn't an option. Eventually, he made the call all in for his tournament life, tabling {10-Hearts} {10-Spades} while Roberts had pulled ahead in the race with his {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}. Nocerino was in disbelief.

The turn and river blanked off with the {Q-Hearts} and the {7-Clubs} respectively, failing to answer Nocerino's pleads of, "Diez! Diez!" That's the end of his day, while Roberts moves up the board to about 160,000.

Hayes Right Under Clark

Zachary "CrazyZachary" Clark opened from early position before John Hayes reraised 5,400 more. Clark made the call after some deliberation.

The flop came down {K-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} and Clark check-called a bet of 6,500 from Hayes.

The turn brought the {K-Hearts}. First, Clark checked. Then, Hayes checked.

The river was the {3-Clubs} and Clark didn't move a muscle. After about half of a minute, he bet out 7,800. Hayes made the call. Clark shrugged and tabled {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}. "Right under you." said Hayes, mucking his hand.

Moncek Drinking Double

Susie "SusieQue" Moncek opened the pot with an all-in move for her last 25,000 chips or so. Chase Steely made the call from the button as the rest of the table folded out of the way. With SusieQue's tournament in danger, the cards were turned up.

Showdown
Moncek: {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}
Steely: {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}

It was no fun for Moncek, and she asked the dealer for diamonds. The flop was a big dry desert, though, coming down {9-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {3-Clubs}. The turn was a {6-?}, except it wasn't. The dealer appeared to flip two cards, and he retracted it and held his hand up in apology. The {6-?} was apparently the next burn card, and his second crack at dealing fourth street brought a miraculous {7-Spades} to pull Moncek into the lead. A safe {3-Spades} filled out the board, and SusieQue has picked up an early double to work with. She's now up over 50,000 for the first time in three days.

Stealing the Limelight from Phil

"Hurry, Phil wants the cameras! He's all in!" yelled Tristan Wade from Table 6 to summon the camera crew in the room to Phil Hellmuth's table. Hellmuth had checked the turn on a board of {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {10-Spades} and Wade moved all in.

When the cameras arrived to film the action Hellmuth said, "Wow, you move all in on me and then you call the cameras? Really?" Eventually, Hellmuth folded.

"Gavin, did you see that?!?!" Hellmuth rang. "The kid moved all in on me and then called the cameras, he's a camera hound!" The table laughed at Phil's comment before he went on to say, "We all know I'm a camera hound, but now we know you're one, too!"

Mayday for Tmay

tmay420
tmay420
Action folded around to Tim "Tmay420" West in the small blind and he moved all in. James Mordue was in the big blind and found a hand to call with, {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}. West held {Q-Hearts} {8-Hearts} and was behind.

The flop contained a king, but all was not lost for West when it came {K-Spades} {6-Hearts} {2-Hearts} to give him a flush draw. But after the turn fell the {6-Clubs} and the river the {5-Clubs}, West was sent packing.
