Hachem Flushed

We were unable to catch the action, but we ran over to find Joe Hachem shipping more than half his stack to an opponent.

Hachem had turned a set holding {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}, but his opponent rivered a runner-runner flush to see Hachem clip to just on 18,000 in chips.

The next hand Hachem would chop a pot when his {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} would manage two-pair on a final board reading {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} against an opponent's {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

Hachem Clipped

After being forced to fold on the river with the board reading {4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Joe Hachem lost another pot back-to-back to see him slip to just above his starting stack.

After opening from early position to 200 and finding a caller in the big blind, Hachem fired 300 on the flop and 800 on the turn before checking behind on the river with the board reading {6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

With his opponent check-calling Hachem down, his {J-Spades}{8-Spades} would best Hachem's {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} when the cards were tabled on the river.

Another One Bites The Dust

Dany Assaf pushed his remaining 10,000 into the pot holding {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and was called by Fouad Rabahie and his {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} to see Assaf hit the rail and Rabahie add a few needed chips to his stack.

Souhail Sails

Catching the action with the board reading {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} Georges Fares pushed all in and Souhail Nassar made the call for his tournament life.

Fares: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}
Nassar: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Needing one of only two remaining Queens in the deck to stay alive, lightning would strike for Nassar when the {Q-Diamonds} landed on the river to see him double through to over 49,000 as Fares was left crippled.

Abela Doubles Back

We pick up the action in a three-way pot wiith about 1,300 chips in the pot to start the hand. The flop was already out on the table, showing {8-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {A-Spades}. After the first two players checked, Gilbert Abela moved all in for 14,450. Action was back on Boris Chamoroff now, and he quickly made the call with the covering stack. The third player in the hand looked to be considering a call as well, but he eventually ducked out, and it was heads up for Abela's tournament life.

Showdown
Abela: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}
Chamoroff: {8-Spades} {9-Spades}

Abela was poised to double up with his top pair, but he would need to fade a bunch of outs to stay alive. The turn card brought a safe {2-Diamonds}, and the {4-Diamonds} that filled out the board locked up the pot and the double. With his nut flush, Abela climbs back just over his starting stack with 30,200.
