Back For Day 3

Welcome back to our coverage of the Partouche Poker Tour main event from the Palm Beach Casino in Cannes, France. After a full day of play yesterday, 48 players have made it into the money and will return today to continue their run to the final table.

Patrice Sitbon will begin with the big chip lead, sitting with 867,100 chips. Despite his position, things won't be easy for the leader. Gus Hansen, both Robert and Michael Mizrachi, and Patryk Hildebranksi are all within striking distance. Also in the mix are a number of amateurs who have proven themselves capable up to this point.

Play will begin at 3:00pm local time, so join us then as we play down to our final table of eight.

Slight Delay

Play was scheduled to begin at 3:00pm today, but we have just learned from our French colleagues that we will be delayed for a little while. The tournament room has undergone a complete overhaul in preparation for the final two days, including the addition of a featured table stage and tons of camera and broadcasting equipment. Final preparations are still underway, and we expect the starting time to be pushed back by close to an hour.

We will keep you updated on the anticipated starting time.

Seat Assignments

The players returned to the felt today in the same seats they vacated at the end of last night. Currently, Scotty Nguyen and Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi are seated at the feature table, while Noah Schwartz, Patryk Hildebranksi and Arnaud Mattern are all sitting together on one of the outer tables.

Gus Loses a Little

Gus Hansen and Raul Paez see a raised flop that reads {10-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}. Hansen is first to act and makes a 33,500 bet that Paez calls before the turn comes {7-Clubs}.

Hansen continues to push with a 51,000 bet. Paez dwells over his next move and counts the call out from his stack to see how much he has left. "All in" comes from his lips, as he slides his chips over the line.

Hansen raises his eyebrows, and slides his cards over the line to concede the pot.

Hansen now on 520,000, Paez on 340,000.

"I'm back, baby . . . Watch out!"

Our access to the feature table is quite limited due to the extravagant production stage built around it, though we were able to discern that Scotty Nguyen just doubled up via his exuberant table talk afterwards:

"I'm back, baby I'm back . . . Watch out!" said the Prince of Poker. "Tell your friends!"

"Merci, Merci!" he said to the dealer as he raked in his new chips, ~45,000 of them by our calculations.
