Hellmuth Bluffing with Five High

Four players were involved in a pot. Vanessa Rousso held two nines, Roland De Wolfe held the {A-Spades}{J-Spades}, Phil Laak held {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Phil Hellmuth held {5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

Action check around to the river and Laak was last to act. He had checked his flush draw on the flop and turn and made it on the river. He fired 18,000 and then Hellmuth raised to 130,000 with complete air. De Wolfe and Rousso folded and then Laak tanked, but folded as well, laying down a flush. Hellmuth didn't show.

Aces vs. Kings

Darth Vader is playing today
Darth Vader is playing today
Roland De Wolfe limped under the gun in his Darth Vader costume holding {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Phil Laak limped with the {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and then Phil hellmuth completed from the small blind with the {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. Tony G woke up with the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} from the big blind and things looked like they might get huge. He raised to 13,000, but De Wolfe just flat-called, not wanting to play a big pot and risk elimination. Laak called and then Hellmuth folded.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Tony G fired 25,000. De Wolfe made the call. Laak folded.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Tony G fired 40,000. De Wolfe made the call again.

The river was the {7-Hearts} and Tony G fired 70,000. De Wolfe called again, but saw that he was beat by Tony G's aces. He could have easily gone broke here if it wasn't for his cautious play.

Hellmuth Takes One from Tony G

On the flop of {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Phil Hellmuth bet 4,000 with the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and top two pair. Tony G raised with the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} to 15,000 and then Vanessa Rousso was next to act with her pocket threes. She folded and Hellmuth made the call.

The turn card was the {5-Hearts} and both players checked. The river was the {5-Spades} and Hellmuth fired 32,000. Tony G made the call and Hellmuth showed him the winner.

Phil Laak raised to 12,000 with the {10-Spades}{5-Clubs} from the cutoff seat and David Benyamine called from the small blind with the {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Phil Hellmuth called in the big blind with the {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

The flop was huge for Hellmuth when it came down {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and he picked up trip sevens. Action checked around.

The turn card as the {2-Spades} and Benyamine checked. Hellmuth led out with a bet of 30,000. Laak got frisky and raised to 85,000. Benyamine folded and then Hellmuth min-reraised back to 140,000. Laak folded and his play failed to work.

Laak has been playing somewhat loose and wild, but it hasn't worked out for him yet in this match.

Negreanu Starts Worst, Finishes First

Vanessa Rousso raised to 10,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Phil Laak flat-called behind her with the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Daniel Negreanu reraised to 40,000 with the {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. Rousso called and then Laak called as well.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Negreanu went from first to worst. Rousso checked, Laak checked and then Negreanu fired all in for 283,000. Rousso folded and started complaining about how she never hits any flops and then Laak folded next. Negreanu picked up the pot.

High Roller

Luke Schwartz is still not at the table and just being blinded off. The stuffed monkey is still in his seat, taking over for Schwartz. The television crew just let everyone know that Schwartz is in the high roller section of the casino.
