Damon Cole Gets Paid

Damon Cole opened to 3,000 from early position before another player moves all in for 57,000. Cole was covered but called quickly and showed {k-}{k-}.

He was ahead of the {j-}{j-} held by his opponent.

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Cole doubled up.

Lloyd Patout Sends Michael Hogue Out

The flop was {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Michael Hogue got all in against Lloyd Patout.

Hogue was covered with just about 18,000 left and holding, {7-}{7-}.

Patout was ahead with {9-}{9-}, but still needed to dodge a {5-} or a {7-}.

The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and the river was the {j-Hearts} and Patout won the hand to eliminate Hogue.

Patout told the table he also busted his boss out of the tournament and he was sure that his tire's were going to be slashed.

"Don't bother showing up for work Monday," another player said at the table inciting a laugh.

Queens for Glover

A player in early position opened the pot for 2,700 and it folded around to Frank Glover, who went into a think. After half a minute, Glover tossed in two gray chips for a raise to 10,000. The blinds got out of the way and the initial raiser wasted no time moving all-in for around 13,000 total. Glover called and his opponent asked, "How big is your pair?"

Glover - {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent - {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

"I need a six up there," the early position player said, and the dealer spread a flop of {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, all but ending the hand. The {5-Hearts} left Glover's opponent drawing dead, with the {j-Spades} on the river to complete the board.

Ace High for Teran

A player in early position opened for 4,000 and Tomas Teran, who ran deep in the RGPS Bossier City Main Event last October, called. Everyone else folded and the dealer spread a flop of {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. The initial raiser checked and Teran checked behind.

The turn added the {6-Spades} to the board and the early position player bet 4,500. After some thought, Teran called.

The {6-Hearts} hit on the river, and the initial raiser checked. Teran thought for a few seconds and then checked behind.

The first player turned over {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a king high and a missed straight draw. Teran then turned up {a-Spades}{4-Spades} for ace high and a missed flush draw, good enough to collect the pot.

Baker Loves a Draw

Dennis Baker
Dennis Baker

Dennis Baker found himself heads-up in a pot in the last hand before break. The flop read {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs} and he and his opponent got into a betting war. Baker eventually bet enough to put his opponent all-in, and after a brief hesitation, he called.

"You don't have clubs, do ya?" Baker asked.

Baker - {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Opponent - {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Baker was up against top and bottom pair, but had a live draw. Seeing he needed to catch a club, Baker said, "Alright, let's get some clubs up there."

The dealer burned and turned the {10-Clubs} and Baker clapped his hands.

"Okay, now just don't fill him up," Baker said.

The {10-Hearts} completed the board and Baker pulled in the pot.

Hulin Takes Down a Monster Pot with Aces

We missed the hand, but the players at the table tell us that Huey Hulin came by his 335,500 chips in an incredible hand that saw four players all in by the flop. Hulin had them all covered holding {a-}{a-}. His opponents held {k-}{k-}, {q-}{q-}, and {a-}{k-}.

The board ran out clean for Hulin's pocket aces, {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{x-}{x-}, launching Hulin into the overall chip lead.
